At least 2 times photos CLEARLY SHOW images of the controls and IT DOES HAVE an ionizer button which is OPTIONAL. So yes it CAN emit Ozone if you choose to push that button ON. It is not suppose to if you do not turn the button to ON. Hope this helps settles it. Maybe in 2014 when question was posted there were no IMAGES showing this models controls but today in 2020 there are.

It comes with 1 HEPA filter (1 year est.) and 1 carbon filter (6 month est.) Based on the reviews though, the filter tend to lasts longer than the estimate.

Q: Does this remove PM 2.5 ?

Yes it does remove PM2.5 particles effectively. PM 2.5 is right in a HEPA filters sweet spot. HEPA filter remove 99.97% of particles above 0.3 micrometers, and PM2.5 are right around 2.5 micrometers, so this would be extremely effective at doing so. This is true of all HEPA filters though, nothing special here.

Q: How is the air flow? I am looking for a purifier that can sort of double as a fan... will this work?

Oh man this thing works beautifully as a fan for white noise. Sleep too it every night. I have had my Coway (non-WIFI) model for three years. I have been running it 24/7/365 days a year. On high every night. It will create a nice breeze for you also. When I turn mine on high it actually makes my ceiling fan spin. Lol. Oh. And it cleans like a breast. But is very energy efficient. I just bought this WIFI model. Gave my first COWAY 1512HH to my niece. It still runs like a champ. Don’t bother buying the warranty. They are built to last.
