I last watercolor painted in high school and wanted to try again during the Covid shutdown. The price of this small book put me off and I did on-line classes in art and spent quite a bit of money on supplies instead. Now, separated from my supplies by travel, I decided to buy this set and I am loving it! Yes, the images are small, but I like that they’re duplicated, so if I misread instructions or make a mistake, I have a second chance to improve. I am pleased with the paints, brushes, and the quality of the paper. Instructions are simple to grasp, but do lack specificity—great for people who hate too many directions. I wish there were more instructions on loading brushes with water, or how to adjust dryness. Here and there more detailed instructions would be welcome. I love the faint guidelines! As others say, the guides let you concentrate on technique. The step by step instructions help you learn strategy for building an image. It is easy to see how to advance to making your own compositions. I don’t like the quality of the masking fluid and parafin. A colorless wax crayon would be better than what is provided, but overall, I am very very happy with this purchase. I wish the company offered similar pre-printed (guidelines) compositions on larger paper as the “next step” in learning.

The kit is a wonderful idea but I had to go to internet on how to use the watercolors. I paint with acrylics so I have painting knowledge. For a beginner there is just not enough information on how much water to use, how wet paint brush should be and if one should mix a bit of color and water on a palette and build from there.

Just bring a cup for water and you have everything you need to paint on the go in one box. The lessons are easy to understand for a beginner and there are multiple samples to paint. Pages ate outlined to allow you to concentrate on techniques. Very high quality paper allows you to paint your own designs on the back of the lessons. Your end results are frameable. I really am enjoying my tour and it supplies many hours of entertainment. I recommend for beginner to intermediate watercolorist of any age.

I hesitated before ordering this b/c I thought it might be almost a “paint by numbers” kit, but it turned out to be a course in color mixing and learning a sequence for the application of colors. I’ve used watercolors over the years but have always been uncertain about combining colors. The instructions leave room for variation, but provide guidance for creating pleasing results. It’s also nice to have a second chance with each of the subjects. The materials are excellent and there’s more than enough paint provided. Well done, Vitali and Andrej!

This is better than I thought it would be. I love all the amazing things in the kit. I didn’t expect so much and such great quality. The watercolor book is so awesome.

Exactly like in the picture, but I do not like the concept as you reproduce what you see following instructions step by step...then what? Very expensive...the colors are the same for all landscapes despite in reality Tuscany, Venice or south of France have not the same skies, végétation colors, etc. It is not the same light!!!! and buildings are also completely different.

The kit gives no instruction on technique. Water for example instructions say to add more, use less, or normal amount, but does not say what a normal amount is.I feel it is overpriced and the paper quality is cheap.

Wasn’t as detailed asI hope when it came to knowing whether to mix colors or go put on separately but overall I’m happy with it and having fun
