I needed to hang a coat rack on a crumbly wall. The rack had come down twice using traditional brown 7-8mm wall plugs, in deperation I tried these out, after repacking the existing holes with plaster filler the fix feels much more secure than my previous efforts.

Perfect and reliable

I WAS FITTING SOME SHELVING TO SUPPORT HEAVY BOXES.THESE ARE VERY GOOD, BUT I FOUND THAT IF YOU DRILL THE HOLE AT THE DIAMETER RECOMMENDED, THE EXPANSION PROVIDED BY THE SUPPLIED SCREW WAS NOT ENOUGH TO SECURE THE FIXING INTO THE WALL.I BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS DUE TO THE MATERIAL I WAS DRILLING INTO, AND I DRILLED A PILOT LARGE ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THE NOSE OF THE PLUG THEN DRILLED A SECOND HOLE (THE RECOMMENDED SIZE) AT A LESSER DEPTH, FOR THE MAIN BODY OF THE PLUG - RESULT BRILLIANT

Since discovering Fischer wall plugs I’ve not used anything else.One design that works in solid walls or plasterboard, saves a lot of faff!They’re particularly good at avoiding spinning in the hole, and as long as you use the correctt size drill and a decent drill bit, the plugs will go in snug and efficient.

This is the product I was looking for, it meets my expectations, I recommend it.

These work amazingly well in plasterboard - check out the YouTube video that compares plasterboard fixings. The only plugs that are stronger than this are the metal spring loaded plugs that need a lot of clearance
