Good Quality Knife with Glass Break Tip
I bought this knife to carry on duty as a police officer for one main reason - the glass break tip. I wanted a folding knife with a half-serrated blade combined with a glass breaker to free up some space since I was carrying a folding knife and a glass punch separately, so I bought this one. It turned out well because this is actually a great overall knife and not just an average one that they added a glass break tip onto. The knife's a bit larger than most knives I've carried before but with that comes a good sturdy feel and weight to it that gives me a little more confidence and it fills and fits in my hand nicely, whether I'm wearing gloves or not. When I use it to pry into something it doesn't feel like it's going to bend or snap. The glass break tip has proved itself useful and flawless when I've needed to get through vehicle windows. While I haven't had the need to use the seat belt cutter it is a nice option if I need it. The pocket clip is sturdy and doesn't come loose or bend away from the knife to where it doesn't stay tightly clipped in my pocket anymore. The knife and clip are smooth and snag-free and haven't caused any unusual wear to my pocket in my uniform pants, another nice bonus for wearing it in uniform daily. The blade itself seems durable and with the good size and good grip it's easy to use to cut effectively. Plus, in addition to being able to easily open one-handed, it is also almost as easy to close one-handed with the release switch and the bonus is that it keeps your fingers out of the path of the blade as it closes. Overall I'm very satisfied with the knife and recommend it to other officers as a good all around affordable knife for what we need.

Combat Lifesaver Approved
I am a US Army Veteran, and one of the many hats I had to wear was being a Combat Lifesaver.A Combat Lifesaver is not highly trained as a Combat Medic or even a paramedic, the program was designed to provide advanced first aid until a medic could arrive on scene. That being said, everyone in my company still called me "Doc".I fell in love with Gerber Knives when I first joined the US Army, but those were all the fixed blade knives. My first Gerber folding knife was the original E-Z-Out made back in 1995. Unfortunately it is now at the point to where it has to be sharpened weekly to keep that shaving quality edge. So I finally decided to upgrade.I was first looking at F.A.S.T. series knives when I saw the Hinderer Combat Lifesaver by Gerber, and immediately fell in love. I was not disappointed. As always, my knife arrived wickedly sharp as one expects from a Gerber product. I noticed that it was easy to open with my thumb, so I decided to give it the E-Z-Out flick and was happily surprised when it opened. It was a little stiff, but a dab of Liquid Wrench fixed that stiffness. Then I decided to test the seatbelt cutter on an old cargo strap and it worked properly.I have not been able to test autoglass breaker and oxygen tank screw, but the autoglass breaker is well designed and placed and should be easy to use.I am sure my buddies in my volunteer fire department will be impressed to see this knife and will recommend it to all my friends and family.Update: 1/9/16I just visited the Gerber Gear website and found out that they are asking for $90 for the Hinderer CLS, so this is definitely a bargain.

excelent knife 1 tiny flaw
please allow me to open this review with an advanced appology for my appaling spellingi would reccomend this knife to anyone however i would doubly recomend this knife to anyone who is going to be using it while wearing glovesi opened the knife and it was bigger than i had guessed which was a good thing it looked small in the pictures to mei wear medium gloves and the knife comfortably takes up my whole hand to grip it and it feels nice and sturdy when i grip it the thumb studs and release studs are heavily knurled slipping is not possible. On the downside when opening and closing bare handed you will develop some nice callouses on your thumb. Some may care about this i do not.i had to practice opening the knife quickly but within 15 min i got it down to 1.5 sec with it cliped to my pocket to open. I then tried it with gloves and that is where this knife truly shines. With gloves the action seem natural where as bare handed it took a second to pick up.the fact of the matter is the knife is meant for gloves not that it isnt excelent bare handed.my only grype with it is the safety cutter or whatever it is, is a Bitch to open. i have to use somthing to pry it, however it is amazingly sharp (you could probably start on the hem of someones jeans and with one strong pull get all the way to the belti havent had a chance to test the glass breaker which was one of the reasons i wanted this knife so badly but i will update when i do
