LacoValencia Automatic Luminous Dial Watch with Sapphire Crystal 861651

Impressive build quality and very clean and elegant dial design from a German company that has a history of making solid watches (vs many of the "Germasian" brands like Bergmann that pretend to be German, but are just cheap Chinese quartz watches). Given that you're getting a watch with a sapphire glass crystal, a rear display, and a quality Miyota automatic movement modified by Laco for this watch, this is a great value in a watch of this quality. The leather strap is also good quality leather, though it was a bit too shiny for my tastes, so I swapped it out. Be aware, though, that this is a fairly large watch for smaller wrists, and you will need to get a smaller strap for sure if you get it. I like its size, but if your tastes run to smaller sized watches, this may not be for you. Overall, this is a great looking watch, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a good quality automatic watch made by a reputable company.

The watch is beautiful and worked fine until I was working on a dock and it was occasionally submerged in a couple of feet of water- nowhere close to the 5 ATM advertised tolerance. Following this work, water was visible in the watch and damaged the surface of the watch face. I sent it back to the manufacturer, who offered a modest discount on a new watch but would not replace or repair the watch per the warranty. Not what I would expect from a company of any integrity - and not worth legal action to remedy this. I will never buy another Laco product.

I love this watch. The large dial face, simplicity and readability of numerals and hands, the heft of the watch, and its military look and legacy all appeal strongly. There's nothing generic about its appearance. I thought the watch was equipped with a dial face that lights when a battery button is pushed, but it does not have that feature. Except for that, I find the watch perfect.

I bought this watch because I like the retro style. It keeps good time, even for an automatic and the power reserve means I can not wear it for a day and it still runs the next morning. The watch face glow is crazy bright initially with a rapid fade off to usability that lasts all night.

I love the watch. My first Laco was a Aachen with the same Japanese movement. I owned it for a year and it kept time really well, and I liked that watch so much that I had to try another one. I have only been wearing this watch for a week, and so far it is holding time perfectly. It is not even losing a second per day when compared to my cell phone. The dial shines so bright in the darkness, and it lasts. Sometimes I wake up at 3 AM and can still read the time on the watch. The watch band was horrible, so I changed it out, but the watch is a keeper.

Arrived in great condition in a massive case. Great watch, comfortable and easy on the eyes.
