Mind-blowing!
No one becomes a Christian by reading the Old Testament. On becoming a Christian, we generally tend to immerse ourselves in the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles and the Letters of the early church. Then someone asks you if you have ever read the whole bible? After a while your curiosity grows and you settle down to read from Genesis. It is not long before you have a notebook of anomalies and questionable stuff: Who is this God? I don’t recognise him from the one Jesus talks about; I don’t like him, he is an angry and uncaring, enjoying blood and carnage, he even calls himself selfish and he certainly acts that way. I managed Genesis and Exodus but struggled with Deuteronomy, Numbers, and Leviticus which were all about rules, regulations, and a lot of blood and sacrifice so I moved on to Kings quickly. Nothing felt right, nothing sat well in my heart, in fact I felt uncomfortable that this was part of the book of my faith. So it is fascinating to hear Paul Wallis asking the same questions. It is absolutely mind-blowing to discover the answers. Finally, it all makes perfect sense. We have been duped. This book is a must read for anyone who has ever queried the God of the Old Testament.

An essential read for seekers of the truth of humanities origins
I thoroughly recommend Paul Anthony Wallis books, Escaping from Eden and the Scars of Eden for all those seekers of our origins and a deeper understanding of their Faith. For me personally Paul's research reflected in his books have joined up all the dots, deepened my faith and helped me to make sense of the very often conflicting narratives of the Old Testament God of wrath and punishment and the one true eternal divine God of the new Testament. The books go way beyond the important works of Sitchin and Von Daniken and are highly readable and easily understood.Such refreshing insight into mankind's origins and our ancient history and the interaction of extra terrestrial engineering of early mankind as a useful asset to the powerful ones during their sojourn on planet earth.Five stars on all categories.I look forward to more books from you Paul. You have a unique way of looking at the history from your perspective as a man of the church. Thank you.

Very interesting and thought provoking.
I enjoyed the book very much. It really got me thinking about the possibility of Extra Terrestrial beings visiting Earth in our distant past and how this would be interpreted by the early humans. Then how those ‘stories’ became religious ideas including the Old Testament. I could never understand how such a cruel Old Testament God could suddenly change into the loving God of Jesus. It just didn’t make sense. Not that I believe in God, I’m an atheist but I do find the concept interesting. My only issues were… It would have been better if there were illustrations of some of the ancient carving's and artefacts that are mentioned, I had to keep Googling them so I could fully understand what was being talked about. Also, for me as an atheist I was a bit turned off by the author’s blind faith in Jesus and his version of God. It’s as if all the old stuff is aliens but the Jesus stuff is real. Not that I’m knocking the Jesus God, he seems much nicer than the older versions (shame about the organised religions/churches that have since ruined the teachings). But the author just believes it with no evidence for or against, so his credibility takes a bashing. Worth reading though.

A revelation
Being brought up a Catholic it always bothered me that our ‘God’ seemed a very cruel one. Terrorising small children like me every day in school and at mass on Sundays. Everything was about repenting our sins and how bad we were. As a small child I remember being terrified I’d end up in purgatory or hell. I look at my little grandson and think who could do that to little children who are as pure as snow. Also things just didn’t add up or make sense as I got older and I just did not have the faith of my patents or friends. Any way fully lapsed since I became old enough to make my own mind up I dabbled in books like Chariot of the Gods for a while and then put it all away for years. A chance post on FB recently led me to Paul Wallis. Don’t you love books that you can’t put down; well this is one like that. Everything Paul talks about makes absolute sense. I mean you’ve got to be deluded really to think we’re the only ones in the Universe and I’ve always said there’s got to be more than this. Now I firmly believe thanks to reading this book that there is. I’ve met many people in my life who don’t believe in any religion, or god, who held the view that the bible was written to control people and I came round to the idea they were probably right. I now believe they definitely are. It’s like an awakening for me and I’m thirsty for more revelations as I read all of Paul’s books. Are you brave enough?

Where did we come from?
A fair read to be honest leaving a lot of questions particularly how we can unlock the 95% of what is blocked in our brain. Unfortunately the religious dogma still exists to control humanity and people need to question why preachers and the like are not questioning what is being put forward in this book. I would suggest that those who wish to research the creation stories and the possibility of ‘alien intervention’ that they consult the works of Sitchin.
