No it’s a grease that conditions your hair. And it’s good for dandruff. My grandma used it on use when we were kids.

It's hair grease. It goes on the scalp. It leaves the hair oily. You don't wash it off, it just soaks in the skin. The scent is quite powerful so use small amounts.
