Amazing quality, writes like the best
This is a big heavy rollerball pen that looks beautiful and feels like a high quality writing instrument. The cartridges actually screw into the pen. They appear very similar to the standard Schmidt 880 cartridge but because of the screw-in feature, the Schmidts do not fit this pen. I suspect that the screw-in feature also prevents many other standard refill cartridges from working with this pen. But the cartridges that come with this pen are really good. The ink flows well with no pressure or effort. I really cannot tell the difference between the writing experience with this pen and these cartridges versus my Monteverde with a Schmidt 888 B safety ceramic roller cartridge, and I love the Schmidt cartridge. This is really a heavy pen, it weighs in at a little over 2 oz. In contrast typical rollerball pens weigh in at around 1 oz. It also has a generous circumference. I was pleased to note that the cap can be pressed onto the back of the pen, and it will stay nicely. But for my taste, the pen wound up a little too heavy with the cap on. So I use this pen with the cap removed. It feels perfect in the hand, substantial yet effortless. The Jinhao cartridges produce a tiny bit more friction on the paper. If you put one sheet of paper on a table and write, the Schmidt is a little quieter. However, the Jinhao does not write any less evenly or easily. It is a really good rollerball cartridge that writes with no pressure.Overall, the Jinhao has really impressed me.

Much better than expected for the price.
I was not expecting much at this price point. I was surprised. It was much better made and nice and hefty/ Solid. Not flimsy, there was no mismatched parts. All in all, a very nice pen. Thinking about buying a few to use as gifts. Forgot to mention, this is the matching fountain pen: Jinhao 159 Fountain Pen Medium Black Lacquer Gold Trim Big Heavy with Pen Pouch & Refill Ink Converter Business Signature Gift Collection Pen. Very nice also.

Wrireswell overall.
Writes nicely, although at times it does skip, and the ink smears. Overall, a decent pen for the money spend for it.

Great pen fir money, refills not so great
Impressive and well balanced pen. Refills of poor quality. Judicious application of a pin punch to the screw in tip and some cotton in the barrel permits use of a decent Parker refill.Makes the pen an absolute pleasure to use. Come on ,Jinhao...change the stock design to use Parker and compatible refills!'😉😉

I love the look of this pen, however drop it, and it is unusable!

Great pen for those that like big pens.
For those who like a big heavy pen this one is for you. I found this pen to be easy to grip and it writes very smooth as you would expect a rollerball to lay down the ink. It is very good looking and I can recommend this pen without reservation. This is every bit as good looking and quality made as the more expensive pens by the big name pen manufacturers.

Tacky
I am very disappointed. The pin came in a very flimsy thin plastic with the top hanging out and the top of sticky. It seems as if this pain was used before and just put back into the cheapest presentation and sent out. There was no note that came with the can it didn't even know what the pain was. It had no refill. This is a total waste of money. I do not appreciate having a tacky pen

My “go to” pens
I am finicky when it comes to tools, from indoors to the outdoors. They must be equal to or above my requirements for a task. The Jinhao 159 line had not let me down. The heavier weight and larger girth are exactly what I demanded of a writing instrument. This model and line had become my “go to” writing instruments of choice.
