Its easy to understand and helps gain confidence to work independently and also feel accomplished. He can dive into the book on his own and know where to start and stop, just took me a week to set up this good habit. An essential book to simply help express their own good or better sentences too.

I like it. I’m a former Language Arts Teacher and now tutor. I use this with my writing studentsfor about 10 minutes each session. If there is a concept my student struggles with, I supplement the concept with my own worksheets. It’s great for diagnostic use. It is well aligned with common core standards which is important to me.

Yes! Finally, a book that is based on common core standards that can be used quickly every day. I appreciate the fact that it spirals the content throughout the 36 weeks of lessons to make sure students practice skills throughout the ear. I have ordered (and returned) several grammar/language books, but I'm keeping this one (and the 7th-grade version I purchased as well) because I'm so happy to have this book. I wish I had purchased it before the school year began, but it will be great starting now. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that I wish it came with some sort of weekly assessment as well.

My students start English class every day with a warm-up from this book. Then, we go over the answers together so they can see where they went wrong and learn from it. They really seem to enjoy it!

It is a great warm up to English class and hits on many skills that the kids will see on state tests.

The book itself is fine; however, I keep ordering this book according to the tile and picture and then when it comes is says Common Core. I have ordered two of them so far and keep given them away to students who are in state schools. I need a non common core book, the picture is very misleading.

In looking for a way to review prior taught grammar skills without having to spend too much time on a full blown lesson, this workbook fit the bill! I was able to use this to help cover grammar areas that my students were weak on and then have mini lessons if needed.
