Q: Can this be used inside an air fryer?

No, the green part is plastic and i would like that it would melt in an air fryer.

Q: What is the melting point of the plastic handle?

There is no information in the side panel instructions as to the "melting point" of the plastic handle, which would only be applicable, I should think, if one were planning to use this in an oven, which I certainly wouldn't advise. I have used the basket for steaming in a stove-top stock pot, where water boils at 212F, and I have used it in my electric Instant Pot pressure cooker for vegetables and meats, where under pressure, water boils at 250F. . . . . all with no problems.

Q: How many quarts water does the bottom hold?

The bottom holds 2 quarts which will put the top part at least 1/2" above the water level. For most vegetables we only use 1-quart. For winter squash we use at least 1 1/2 quarts. For longer steaming time say 30 minutes or slightly longer you may want to use all 2 quarts. Remember, if you get the water too close to the steaming top section it will esentially boil your food instead of steaming it. IE: You do not want to get your Banh Bao wet.
