Great blade and solid Marlin spike
The blade is very firm when open and the serrations add a little more cutting power. The Marlin spike is the best way to remove heavy knots from lines without damaging the line. Also great for splicing

Every boater should have one of these
Great product, fits nicely in the side pouch of our life jackets. Bought it as a precautionary measure for our trip. Ended up using it twice in the locks on the Erie, turned two good lines into ropes lol.

One that gets used
I tend to use this knife a lot because the lock mechanisms work well enough. I favor this knife over others I have that were much more expensive because it is lightweight and rugged. The non slip handles are easy to hold while wet. The blade steel is not the best by a long shot, but it is good enough for a multi purpose pocket knife I use here on the farm. The marlinspike is a must for me. I had to drill through the locking lever at the spike end so as to mount a stud to hold a lanyard.

This is a high quality fish killer. Perfect for a deckhand or captain on a commercial boat.
Kill your fish quickly and without blood everywhere. Usually, everyone uses a small baseball bat for a quick knockout blow. That leaves fish blood everywhere. Instead of doing that stab them with the pointy side Its super strong and will not move a bit. Its locked in place strong enough you could take on a marlin if you really wanted too. Gill them with the other side of this blade. Its got the heft and feel of a tool that costs 50 to 100 bucks. More like a leatherman high-quality tool.

Sturdy and Functional
I sent this as a gift to my son who lives on a 40 ft sailboat and makes his living managing a group of boats up to 110 ft.He was very pleased with this tool and it will hopefully give him years of service.

Defective
Locking mechanism for the marlinspike does not engage so it is loose and very unsafe. Returned for a refund.

Nice for the price
Just received this product. Seems very good for the price point. Only downside, the locking device for the marlinespike leaves little room to attach a lanyard. I was able to apply one, but, it is a bit awkward.

Spike doesn’t lock
Marlin spoke doesn’t lock at all. The lever, which looks like it should fold over the blade, does not. So, it just gets in the way.The as-listed weight is totally wrong too (3.8 vs 4.8 oz). Doesn't really matter, but speaks to the lack of quality and attention to detail from the seller. Going to try to return it, but I may have missed the window of time by 24 hrs.Less significant - I’d also like to see a lanyard loop, which seems like it would have been easy and obvious to add.
