Very surprised at performance
I purchased this antenna for backup use with a dual band 2m/70cm radio and a marine VHF radio on a sailboat. The antenna is mounted on a rail about 10 feet above water. It replaced a damaged Diamond antenna and a Shakespeare marine vhf antenna. The antenna is connected with an A/B switch to two radios (Yaesu 7900 and an Icom Marine VHF radio.) Neither the Tram nor Diamond antenna (both NMO mounts) were intended for use on a boat. The Diamond antenna has never had a problem reaching high level repeaters as far away as 80 miles without proper ground plane. Using the Tram, I reached the same distant repeater. After conducting low power simplex radio checks using an FT-60r with another ham on 2 meters at a distance of 20 miles with the Tram 0 gain antenna versus a brand new 3db gain Diamond 5/8 wave antenna using same coax and mount, the reported Tram signal quality was reported to be superior to the Diamond. I had the same report on 70cm.I was able to test the iComm marine VHF radio by transmitting to a test station that re-broadcasts your transmission. For this test, I was unable to transmit using the same mount and coax with the different antennas because they have different bases. I was unable to discern any difference at low power between the two antennas. The Shakespeare antenna is also mounted much higher than the TramOverall, I am very pleased (frankly, I'm shocked!) with the Tram's performance. After being exposed to a saltwater environment for more than a month, the antenna shows no signs of corrosion. Time of course, will be the final judge. My Diamond lasted 3 years before it gave up the ghost. I purchased new Diamond antenna anyway, I just don't leave it up when it is not in use.Would I buy it again? Yes. I will buy another Tram when the salt air eats this antenna, as I am sure it eventually will.

Excellent antenna
Works great on 2m (1.2 SWR) and 70cm (1.1 SWR) and is short enough I don't need to remove from my SUV to pull into my garage. Has taken some hits from low hanging branches and survived intact.

truck through roof mount
I mounted this through the roof of my pickup. It works pretty well. But, it is not the holy grail...

Perfect match on 2M
Don’t even need to make any adjustments. Came with the gasket and works just as expected.

Nothing short of amazing
Was having trouble finding an antenna with decent SWR for an old Midland MXT90 GMRS radio I found cheap at a yard sale. This antenna is absolutely spot-on. Im buying a couple more since its good in the ham frequencies too.

Really Happy with it
Multi-band work is always a compromise but this one really seems to pull it off well. I tested the following frequencies dead center on the roof of my Expedition and got these SWRs:467.700 - 2.00462.700 - 1.01152.800 - 1.14146.550 - 1.01I didn't write down any of the 70cm band freqs, but they start falling off toward the bottom of the band. None were awful though. This is a swell dual bander that will do well both on GMRS/Business and 70cm/2m. Not a ton of gain but it knocks the socks off of everything else I've tried as far as efficiency goes.
