Powerful Handset. Inexpensive Enough To Put One in Every Room.
Integrates flawlessly with Panasonic approved (see their website) base units. Make sure to check model number of base unit to assure this particular handset is compatible with your phone, but otherwise, it does everything advertised. Great tone and voice quality, acts as a battery back-up to the cordless phone base if the power goes out (we had a two-hour blackout and it performed as promised. We never lost power to our base unit, so we never lost use of our cordless phones!).Easy to use and easy to hear hands-free speakerphone with one-button push on front of handset. Easy to navigate menu.If you need an extra handset or two, this comes with it's own, quite small base, so you just plug it in to a power outlet, then it's a two key-press process and it "syncs" to your base unit and you're good to go.Because these are so affordable (shop around, but the vendor I purchased from had the best prices and they shipped very quickly), we now have a phone handset in every room.Dect 6.0 does *NOT* interfere with your home wireless devices (WiFi, etc..) and that made me very happy, compared to the interference (slowed speeds, etc..) when using an older 2.4 or 5.8 GHZ phone system with WiFi in the house.Hope this helps. It does what Panasonic says it will, with the bonus of being (very valuable here in hurricane country) a self-contained, automatic battery back-up to the base-unit. As long as you have your VOIP phone service hooked-up to spare power (like FIOS does for it's customers at time of install, and that is supposed to last 8 hours or more), then you're good to go with phone service if the lights go out.

Good phone set.
Love the intercom feature. But the menu interface is not very user friendly. Panasonic should hire Apple to improve the menu interface. It needs work. Like being able to use std batteries, when it comes time to replace them. Best feature of all is 'call blocking'. Once you block a number, that number can only ring once, and then is blocked from further rings. Works perfectly! Finally a solution to the stinking telephone marketeers.

This is not a stand alone phone it must be added to a base system
I'm sure it's a great phone and I believe Panasonic makes the best cordless phones out there. I had to send this back because the description led me to believe I could use this phone as a stand alone system.

Phone is great, but warranty service is terrible.
The reason for 2 stars is Panasonic's support of their warranty service policy, not the phone itself. I purchased a Panasonic KX-TG6845 phone system with six hand sets. Five of the handsets came with the phone system, and I purchased one additional one separately since the system can handle up to six. I'm very happy with the system in general, and most of it works flawlessly. However, this particular handset worked for about 5 months and then the ear piece audio quit working. The handset appears to work in all other ways and I can still hold a two way conversation with it as long as I do it using the speaker phone feature, but when I press the regular "talk" button and hold it up to my ear -- nothing. And that's regardless of the volume control setting. The Panasonc warranty listed in the manual says the handset is warranted for a year, but the roadblocks to getting it serviced turn out to make the warranty next to worthless. To get it fixed on warranty I have to ship it and pay the shipping, and there is no address listed in the service manual that tells me where to send it for service. Furthermore, the conditions placed on getting it serviced look like they were written by a liability lawyer out to protect the company against any claim. The website the manual refers you to is equally obscure and far from user friendly. Instead of addressing service, you are redirected to a website offering phone accessories. It's like they're saying, "Yeah, we'll service it for you, but only if you can navigate your way through all the roadblocks we're setting up to discourage your warranty claim."I want a working replacement phone and I want it quickly, not on Panasonic own sweet time and not with a lot of hassle. So I finally said nuts to the warranty and ordered a replacement handset instead. I can get that in 2 days on Amazon Prime. Once I have it I will probably try navigating the Panasonic warranty system and see if I get this one fixed. If I'm successful I'll keep it as a spare handset. In the meantime, the obstacle coarse they call customer service knocks what is otherwise a good product down to just two stars in my book.

For old folks like my wife and I who still like a land line, this system works well and it is fairly cheap to add enough for distant rooms so we don't have to run to answer the phone. We love the ability to block numbers that get through that aren't supposed to. It is also easy to use for us.

QUESTIONABLE.
I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH THIS 6TH PHONE. IT IS SUPPOSE TO WORK OK WITH THE PANASONIC 5-PHONE SET, BUT IT DOES NOT DO ESPECIALLY WELL.

Perfect match to existing system.
Nice phone handset. Exactly matches the other handsets that came with the base unit. Was able to "register" the handset easily. The only drawback with these handsets is the clunky menus. Smart phones have shown us what good. user-friendly menus and navigation are all about, and these seem stuck in the '90s by comparison. However, it works fine and give you the extra handset you may need.
