Creatures of the Night: The Rocky Horror Picture Show Experience

There’s a lot of shade on here about this book but honestly it brought back a lot of fun memories when I was a regular RHPS attendee at one of our local theaters in the 90s. I bought it when I saw the author passed away. I’m in my late 40s and still love Rocky Horror as much as when I first saw it. I still yell at certain points and taught my 77 year old mother and 19 year old son the Time Warp. We love RHPS in this house!

Let's make it very clear from the start this is a reproduction of the original "Creatures of the Night" book or as the publishers call it a "re-presentation". This review is mainly about the quality of the printing rather than the content.The book looks like it has been scanned, and not very well at that, from the original rather than reprinted. Gone are the lovely colour pages from the orignal version and the pages are also all cropped. Although overall the book is the same size, there are obvious cuts to all four sides of the pages. When I compared this to the original copy I have you can see that there is about 5% missing from each page.The quality of the paper used is frankly poor. The original used nice coated paper, this reproduction/re-presentation uses cheaper, albeit slightly thicker, paper.Content wise, "Creatures of the Night" was always one of the staple books for Rocky Horror fans and this is the same information as it originally appeared. Pity the quality of this reproduction lets it down so badly. Try and find an original used pressing of the book to see what you are missing.
