Q: How many sheets of, say, copy paper will it cut together? Will it cut card and what thickness of card?

I have tried to cut 5 sheets of 100gsm and was nice cut. My next project is to cut 120gsm x 5. Nevertheleas guillotine is awesome. Had cheap from my friend and had to cut only 2 x 80gsm so now I am happy

Yes I have found it does not cut accurately. I only use mine to cut A3 to a more manageable size, then use a smaller guillotine for a perfect cut. I do a lot of paper/card crafting and really wouldn't recommend this. Shame as it is a sturdy piece of equipment.

When I tried it, it coped ok with 20 sheets, with a bit of effort. I had some small pieces by then, so tried 30 with them. Again, that was ok right at the top, but when I tried it further down, it took a lot of effort. So I would say, you could probably cut 30 sheets, but not easily.

Q: Is safety guard supposed to be secure at both ends

Hello Philip, If you are referring to the clear plastic (Perspex?) safety guard, the one on my guillotine is secured at both ends. However, I have no idea if it is supposed to be like this. The only people who can tell you for sure are the manufacturers, or the supplier, whose responsibility it is to obtain this information from the manufacturers. (Instead of passing his/her responsibility onto someone who has purchased the guillotine.) The two attachments holding the safety guard on my guillotine appear to be push-fit rubber grommets. It may be that one of them requires pushing into place, or that the plastic guard has become detached and requires pushing back into the grommet. I imagine that the guard is detachable and replaceable, in the event of damage. It is indicative of the poor quality of customer care provided with products made in the far east, that this information is not provided with the product. Instead, they rely on people who have purchased the item to supply this information. If you require a definitive answer I suggest that you do what I do on such occasions and contact the seller. If they cannot answer the question, or or not prepared to contact the manufacturer on your behalf, I take this as an indication of an inferior product and either do not purchase the product or find a better seller.
