How many of these do i need to buy to do one diarama

I just need one of these for one the size of a ice skate box.

Hi! Desert Plants range in size from ¼" to 2 ½" tall.

What size (L x W) diarama can i make? (Not the size of the kit package box).

This item will full half the size of a shoebox.

What are these made out of?

Plastic, but they are cheaply made. I bought them for my son's school project but ended up having to rebuy them at hobby lobby. The carrige isn't included.
