Q: Will it work with xbox one x freesync? want to send freesync (variable refresh rate) to my freesync ready tv and atmos to the avr

Do not know, but I'm using it with a 4K HDR decoder as input and a 4K HDR TV and a FULL HD mixer as outputs. I set it in auto mode and it is automatically adjusting the video resolution for each output.

Q: Do all screens receiving a signal need to be on at the same time? I have 3 screens, but only need to use one at a time.

If I am understanding your question, then the answer is yes, all outputs would receive the same input signal at the same time whether you have one or all on at the same time.

Depends on your Application, you can find the right products for your Dolby Vision application. Case 1: If you need to feed audio to an HDMI receiver and video to a Dolby Vision TV, then you can use any of the following models, they have special AVR modes to support Toslink / HDMI receiver: VHD-UHAE2 VHD-U4X1AS UHD1X2SA UHD1X4SA Case 2: if you have two TVs, one is 4K Dolby Vision, the other is 4K no Dolby vision or 1080P TV, then you can consider model: UHD1X2S, it has a special model to let you watch Dolby Vision on output1 when output 2 is not being used. If you want to use both outputs at the same time, then Dolby Vision will be disabled because Dolby Vision and HDR video does not scale well to 1080P, the converted picture quality is poor. All the models mentioned above can pass the Dolby Vision video.
