Thank you for your question. Our wireless switch sets use dynamic rolling codes. The code changes every time you re-program it. There are millions of codes so they don't interfere with each other. 23A is the battery type. It's common enough that most department or electronic stores will have them. Amazon has them too.

Q: does your 120V wall outlet require a ground wire? My older house has no ground wires.

Q: Will this work with a three-way bulb?

Thank you for your question. These remote control outlet sets only turn on/off the power. They can work with all the devices which meet the following two conditions. 1) The max. power output of the device can not exceed 10A/ 1200W, 1/3HP (Check the HP of devices like the vacuum, dust collector, garbage disposer, pump...). 2) Please keep in mind this switch is turning the power on and off. If your device won't automatically power on again when you unplug it and plug it back in, it won't work with this (or any other) power control switch. So the remote outlet can only turns ON/OFF the light, but can't dim the bulb. Please feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
