Loved this manual!
Missed so much manuals written with clear and straight to the point recommendations to achieve some level of proficiency. I have tried some other manuals in different subjects and definitively I cannot learn well when the author is trying to insert jokes and pop-culture references as if the reader were a bored kid that won't pay attention to anything except in the shape of a Marvel movie. I mean, if I am paying for a manual is because I find the subject interesting or necessary. Each chapter seems to be written by a different author of the prestigious magazine Popular Photography, only one of the chapters has the author a bit trying to insert jokes but is not overdone fortunately. The articles are written in a professional style, very engaging and informative contributions, with photographs that are excellent as composition, relevant to the article (I have found some manuals in other books that insert photographs with not much relation to what they write) and with a short explanation of the circumstances in which they were taken, there is also a useful list of gadgets or equipment for each type of photography. I have years taking photographs as an amateur, but both I organized my knowledge and learned a lot more by reading this manual, which is a perfect one. If my review sounds like a rant is in great part because I have had not luck with manuals lately, this book is a relief to read and I highly recommend it if you have interest in improving your photography from a technical point of view.

Lots of great information!
I only Paid $3.32 for this amazing hard cover book full of great info. Including, how to take pictures of the moon and weddings. I shopped around on Amazon for the best quality version and the lowest price.

Full of Ideas
Not just a "how to", but also a "what to" photograph book. The lists of gear required after each chapter quickly became tedious for me, though others may find them useful.

Great content, not so great printing
Pretty good book on photography with a lot of helpful hints. Only problem is that the version of print I received has a few pages like the attached photo and are not legible (seems that the page was copied a handful of times on top of itself so you have to REALLY stare at it for a bit to be able to tell what the words are). Unfortunately, those pages are the pages I needed the most.

This book is fantastic. Great table book and has a lot of information. It ins't the "end all be all" of photography books, but has just enough information and incredible pictures to get you out there taking more pictures. Love it!
