Perfect for an in-office speaker system
I actually think it sounds pretty good as speakers for my iPod touch. I use it to listen to music while I'm working. Keeps the iPod charged, too, when I'm not listening to it. Is it hi-fi? No, and I wouldn't expect it to be. But it's not tinny-sounding, either. Works for me.

Not too shabby
I found this at an overstock retail store for 29.00. I must say that it was entirely worth it for my purposes as an office music player. I will never need any serious volume in this environment and it charges and plays my iPod Touch 2g, iPhone 3GS, and iPod nano 2g.The other reviewers said that the buttons seem cheap and I'd have to agree, the rotation feature also is kind of cheap since the motor noise makes it seem like it's going to fail at any moment. So, if you are going to be using this feature alot you might be disappointed after a few hundred uses, mine is working fine after a week and a half of minimal use.Sound quality is fine. I haven't cranked it and frankly only purchased it for low volume applications, either as a clock or an office player. At low volumes the device sounds fine.I'm thinking for the price I paid it's a great value. If I had paid the original price of 99.00 for it I'd have felt ripped off, but at 29.00 it's a great iPhone player/charger.

Loud and Clear
I love this speaker. It works so well and just the right size for my counter.

Bought for $50 and still not worth it!
While the rotating unit feature is cool in a engineer/nerd (engi-nerd) type sense, it does not justify this product at price point.I just bought one of these being closed out locally at a record shop for $50, no returns. Not really worth it even at this price.Reasons for this:No remote control, at the retail price point expected. Not well integrated with iPod touch 3g interface.Pressing buttons on the unit does not change the display from locked mode for example.Pause the unit at one volume level walk away and later resume play, does not remember the volume level.Display will not light up if you press a button on the unit. While the industrial design is striking, the execution is sub par. For example the buttons seem really cheese-y. I should have know this from the display model having the buttons pushed into the unit. Not nearly as nifty as a iPod 3G design, and I would have expected much more from a Sharper Image name. I will live with it at this price, what choice do I have since I bought on the condition of no returns.

Good product
This speaker system has been working just fine for us. Lack of remote control capability is the only regret we have.

Not very good, for the price.
I first saw these in a local store and thought it looked cool. The swiveling dock part peaked my interest. After purchasing though and actually listening to music I must say I'm not impressed. Sound is very poor, and audio sounds like its coming from a tin can and lacks any bass. For the price you can find better. There is no remote control, no display and even the swivel is slow and clunky. The only pro I can think of is its looks but your purchasing this to listen to and honestly its horrible.

I paid $40 at Ross, and still not a good deal
The pivoting feature is cool, and I think my 16 year old son will like it. But if you care about sound quality, do not purchase this unit. I compared it side-by-side with my 2 year old Altec inMotion IM600, and the im600 blew the sharper image away. Besides poor sound, it has limited features. It gets 2 stars simply for not being DOA.

It's good but......................
Excellent delivery service from supplier. Unit not quite as I had hoped, buttons on top (volume + and -) slow to react, but volume good, sound quality however not quite so good. Like other comments, lead could do with being longer, depending on how close speaker is to socket, and remote would be a definite benefit. Decided to send back - watch out for supplier's return policy, along with paying for return as expected, refund will be minus their post and packing, twice as much as return cost. Spent an extra [](Sony) longer lead, volume not quite as good, but sound quality better, along with remote control. However, saying that it is good value and stylish.

Really Good Item
This is an very good buy!PROS:~~~~~~~~~~~~~The actual body is quite sturdy so no chance of it falling over,It come with dock connecters for different items, such as iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPhone 3gs,Great sound quality,I love the rotating dock, so you can watch films on it,Charges iPod whilst playing musicCONS~~~~~~~~~~~~~When you first plug your iPod in, it plays music automatically, which is not good if it's 3:00 in the morning,Often have to shuffle iPod around on dock for it to charge if its in Landscape mode,Dock connectors are quite hard to changeOverall a good value for money buySofie J

Funky and functional
Nice looking iPod dock. I have an i-Touch, so the ability to rotate 90 degrees (ie landscape and portrait orientations) is perfect for looking at album artwork etc vs the home page.Sound quality is great for an iPod - we're not talking hi-fi here. The only slight niggle is that there isn't much room to put the ipod in (in the centre of the "doughnut") - but it's not really a problem.Positives: good sound, great 90-degree rotate functionNegatives: none (bit fiddly inserting the ipod perhaps)

Nice, but could be better!
I bought this as a gift for my son. Unfortunately he took delivery of the parcel which had the item picture and description all over the box. Surprise ruined. Having said that, the item works well, sounds great for the price (except when I plugged in an MP3 player using the input method - rubbish sound). My only negative apart from the packaging.... It could do with a remote control :)

Rotating speaker ipod dock
Bought this for my granddaughter and she's over the moon with it.She particularly likes it motoring around 90 degrees when she watches films on her ipod touch and is more than satisfied with the sound quality. All in all I feel it was money well spent.
