Moves the heat around as it says on the box.
I use this on a non fan assisted pellet stove. It's difficult to tell if it really blows warm air about, you can't feel it. We use the stove to heat our whole house in the winter and it is sited in the biggest room ( about 34 m2). I used a thermometer at the other end of the room that the stove is in and with the fan running, noticed an increase in temperature of a couple of degrees C, so it must be doing as it is supposed to do.The fan unit itself appears very well made and looks like it came as part of the stove. The fan spins silently too.

blows the heat from your woodburner into the room instead of losing it up the flue.
Works well on small wood-burning stove in a small room. Place it on back corner, facing diagonally across stove top, to blow the rising heat back into the room. Check the space available if your stove is sited in a small fireplace. We also use the Caframo 1200 for a larger woodburner in a long room. Makes a huge difference to the room temperature.

Superb product that has transformed my living room!
A friend of mine recommended this, and after trying his, I immediately ordered one myself. What a difference this little fan makes. I have quite a long room with the stove at one end. It was always noticeably colder at the opposite end from the stove. I got a thermometer to check it out and indeed on a cold day the difference was about 3 or 4 degrees centigrade. With this fan that difference has all but disappeared, at worst there is a degree difference now and it is much nicer to sit and work at the far end of the room. I also notice I am putting considerably less wood on the fire, because I don't need to crank it up as much to get the whole room to be cosy.I saw a few people complaining that the fan doesn't push the air much, some even go through the trouble of doing experiments strips of paper. This is pointless exercise, because the point of this fan is that it gently pushes the air in quite a wide direction in order to prevent annoying drafts. And indeed, there is absolutely no noticeable draft when you are 2 or 3 feet away from it. At first I had expected the effect to take long to notice, but I was surprised at how quickly it works. My room is cosy all over within about an hour of lighting the stove. I do not have any other form of heating. If your fan isn't producing much effect then this can have a number of reasons. Firstly, you have to make sure that the top of your stove gets hot enough. At least 110 degrees centigrade for this model. I have seen people burning their stoves with little bits of wood at the time and the vents wide open. There is plenty of flames that way, but hardly any heat and as s result the stove top stays relatively cool and the fan won't push much air. Best to fill up the stove a bit more and close those vents, that way heat builds up quickly in the stove.Another problem I have seen is where the fan is put in a spot where the cooling ribs on the top of it don't get enough cool air (e.g. close to a vertical flue pipe). There needs to be a temperature difference between the base and these cooling ribs to create enough current for the fan to work optimally, so you do need to make sure the cooling ribs are away from hot parts of the stove or flue. You also do need to make sure you put this fan near the back of the stove to work best.It took some experimentation before I got it working the way I wanted it to work, but now it has transformed my living room and saves me loads of wood. It is easily the best sixty odd quick I have ever spent on a piece of kit!

The Jury is out on this one. It spins ...
The Jury is out on this one. It spins merrily away but does it actually make any difference? I bought it because the woodburner is inset in the fireplace. The flue exits through a large flat steel plate which traps a lot of the heat from the stove and therefore does not radiate it back into the room. The surface temperature of the steel plate is exactly the same now as it was before i installed the fan!

Wish I'd known about these things years ago.
Hadn't heard of these before until my wife had been speaking to a colleague of hers. I admit I was skeptical so went to a stove shop to ask a professional opinion - albeit thinking that of course he/she would really try and sell it.The showroom had a fire already lit and the heat was definitely noticeable. What wasn't noticeable was the little Caframo 800 Ecofan sitting on the stove top under the recessed chimney. The sales rep had to point it out!I bought one from Amazon on that basis £20ish cheaper. The room is noticably warmer, although there is no perceivable air flow - the shop owner did advise that this was the big selling point....a draught would be annoying.Actually thinking of buying a second to go on the other side of the fire. They are mesmerising to watch....waiting for that moment that the fan starts to turn, and slowly speed up. It probably takes about 20 minutes. It's also a good guide to show that the heat is dying down...the case will still be too hot to touch but the fan will slow down.Since buying it, and mentioning it at my work, it seems everyone with a stove already has one.

Good Product
Excellent product, placed on top of the stove it has transformed the heat distribution around the room. And and the same time decreased the time it takes to warm the room.

good product
Seems to work o.k. but noisy if you haven't got the T.V. or radio on.
