The biggest thing I would point out to someone buying this as their first kit - and with no prior experience waxing - such as myself, would be to not use the steel scraper as is; it has rough, sharp edges, and it deeply gouged my board. I would use some combination of file, wet stone and/or fine steel wool to polish the edges before use.The iron feels nice and got more than hot enough to apply wax without me having to turn it all the way up.Also, I thought that the brillo pad it comes with would be a sufficient substitute for a large nylon brush, but now I am thinking a brush would have been much better; the brillo pad retains too much wax.Again, being that this is my first kit and I had no point of reference for comparison, I would say this is a decent kit with caveats. The bag is nice, and iron seems to be good quality, but everything else seems to be average quality (plexi scraper, file, stone) and anything consumable (wax, base cleaner, ptex, etc) is given in "sampler" quantities. A bit disappointed for the money, but not a total waste; I definitely believe that if I knew what I was looking for going in, I could have pieced together a similar or better set for less money.

I am very very new to snowboard and ski tuning. If you are not, this review is probably useless. If you are, I was able to watch a few youtube videos and with this kit put a great edge on 2 pairs of skis and a snowboard. The waxing iron is easy to use and the options for scraping/edging are nice too. If you are a beginner or just want a single place to house your tuning gear this is an excellent buy.

This kit is a very good starter kit, it has the essentials plus some ptex sticks, my only issue with this kit is the iron gets nowhere near as hot as the dial says it does, the instructions claim it can get to 160 degrees Celsius, when cranked as far as it will go I measured the iron with a heat gun and it only measures about 160 degrees fahrenheit, also there was about a 30 degree difference between the top and the bottom of the iron, the top being hotter than the bottom

Perfect for my snowboard. Saves me a lot of money by waxing my own board over getting it tuned frequently.

Did some research as to what ski/snowboard tune kit to get. It works great with both ski's and snowboards. The only thing it was missing that I had to buy separately was a good nylon, and nylon and brass brush. The scraper's and wax iron worked amazingly, and my ski's glided and edged beautifully. Makes me wonder how bad most ski shops are at tuning. Defiantly worth doing it yourself.

Super great kit. Has everything you need to get started tuning. I recommend getting some new wax for your kit, as the one it comes with is not the best. Still really good. Definitely worth the money

I had never waxed my own snowboard before and this kit was extremely helpful, very simple instructions, good smelling wax (not a necessity but a bonus), and a nice bag to fit it all in. With this and a few youtube videos, waxing my board was extremely easy and I am very happy with how the snowboard rides as well.
