The Legend of White Fang: Complete Series

Ignorance is not an excuse for bad reviews!!
YES this IS a cartoon version of Jack London's Whitefang. The names are the same but the situations are..... not.Whitefang remains in the north instead of going to California with Wheaten Scott.Wheaten Scott has a daughter(and no other family as opposed to the large household he had in the book) and Whitefang is a big arctic wolf(dog) who pals around with Wheatens daughter, Wendy, as opposed to paling around with Wheaten. Whitefang and Wendy share many Yukon adventures. many of them absurd, outlandish, unrealistic, just plain silly..... BUT for a child, it's heaven.I LOVED this show when i was a kid. I didnt have cable tv, let alone HBO, but my friend did. the highlight of every morning was getting to her house early in the morning so we could tune in to the next adventure before catching the bus. Imagine that..... a fifth grader who can wait to jump out of bed and catch the bus!*boy were our parents fooled!!* I was head over heels in love with the world of Jack London and his stories of the Yukon. I loved the wolves, the sled dogs, the wildness of the land, the HISTORY.... i guess i was a very strange kid. but none the less i aced my history classes and excelled in reading!I have waited YEARS to finally get my hands on this! I recently bought this collection mainly for my own nostalgic peace of mind, but it turns out my two sons (4 and 5 yrs old) both love it too! That just makes it all the more enjoyable because i dont have to listen to them whine and complain when i watch it - as opposed to when i tried to watch some other movie that wasnt on their level. My ONLY complaint, and its not even worth removing a star for, is the packaging..... i absolutely HATE that each DVD is in a paper sleeve inside a thick box. again... i have small children who dont know they are small.... they want to do things for themselves and these sleeves can tear easily or become lost, OR thrown away by accident. But thats easily remedied. i keep the set on the top shelf and out of their reach...I Say Give it a try... buy the used copy if you're worried you wont like it.Granted, it IS cheap animation..... but if you have a kid who likes wolves, sled dogs, history, and Jack London(or if YOU like all those things) then its worth it to add it to the collection. And if you're just totally cowardly about it.... rent it from netflix first. Yep. they have the DVD's too, which was what tipped me off in the first place. i almost rented them when i decided to see if Amazon had them instead. No regrets!*slight warning to parents*This is a historal accounting, and while much of it is pretty far fetched, you may want to be aware that a lot of the topics deal with dog fighting, attempted murder, stealing, gun violence, arson, violence in general(one scene where a big burly claim jumper chases Wendy with an ax if i'm not mistaken) and animal trapping.Fair warning if any of that bothers you. Watch it for yourself before you make a final judgment whether or not your children should see it.I cant say anything about the bonus episodes because i havent watched those yet. when/if i do, i'll update this review.

A beautiful and amazing cartoon show
The Legend Of White Fang is a Canada-France cartoon series based on the book by Jack London. This is a beautifully made show with great writing, amazing characters, and a breathtaking soundtrack. The show is about a wolf named White Fang. He is best friends with a young girl named Wendy. In every episode, they both must stop 2 criminals in her town who constantly try to cause havoc. Other wonderful characters are Wendy's dad Weedon, Bella, and Raven Moon. The show has ONE bad episode (skip the episode ''White Fang Goes To Town''), but every other episode is so beautiful, well written, and just terrific. Some episodes are quite serious. Bella even holds a shotgun at one of the criminals in one episode. There's drama, love, tenderness, and lots of fun. I'm so glad that I watched this during Christmas. I highly recommend this show.

Wonderful family show
This is a great product that kids from about 5 and up can enjoy with their families. It's similar to "Little House on the Prairie" and "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman". It takes place in the pioneer times, and the best part is that it has a wolf or dog or whatever White Fang is. My daughter was completely obsessed with wolves for awhile, which is why I bought it for her. She literally watched the shows over and over again for several months. And, of course, we still go back and watch them now and then when we need good, wholesome entertainment. I highly recommend this show to anyone.

Not quite what I was hoping for, just ok.
For starters I didnโt like that there was so much that you had to either watch or fast forward through. Next I was very disappointed in the animation, I was expecting something alone the lines of the animated movie White Fang, this was cartoon. Stories were good I guess it was worth the price just donโt have to high of expectations as far as visual appeal.

White Fang Review
I haven't seen this TV Series since I was a small child. It was very good and enjoyable to rewatch it. As you can imagine the quality is not up to modern standards but that made this animation all the more endearing. Very cliche storylines but this is one of those shows that you can just mellow to.

Legend of White Fang: Stands On It's Own.
This animated adaptation of White Fang has it's own charm, that will still keep adults that have a soft spot for wolves or dogs entertained despite the show being intend for younger viewers. It takes some drastic departures form the original book, but still manages to have it's own heart.

Movies
My son love the movie and I will order more in the future. I found it easy to order online and get my product delivered to my house. I found what I wanted really easy. I plan on ordering again soon.

I grew up with this show. Nostalgia is a factor.
I grew up with this show, and I am so happy to have it on DVD. It is one of those little gems of French/Canadian animation from the 90s. The stories are episodic and meant for children, but is historically accurate for what it is, in terms of the time of the Yukon Klondike. The DVD itself is of decent quality; about what I expected. I was not expecting any flashy special features, although that would have been nice. I'm happy to have this little piece of Canadian animation in my collection.
