These are a must for keeping containers dry!*Infinitely reusable!!! Use the defrost setting in microwave and run until the beads in the pouches change from pink to blue again.* Pouches are heavy duty plastic intended for reuse.* A clear window shows the bead color (blue is dry, pink is moist) so you can swap the moist pouch out if needed to keep things dry.* Great for clear storage totes or even food storage since they are non toxic silica (just don't eat or submerge in your food!). Use for clothing, documents, nails / hardware, and anything that could mold, rust, discolor or wrinkle if sealed up with moisture.* Easy to check the color of the beads through a jar or plastic container without opening it. Vibrant bead colors!* Must be used in a closed container for best moisture absorbtion or you're fighting an uphill battle with the air that a dehumidifier machine is best for. ;-)* Silica beads hold the moisture and will not leach back into the container.* Even if the pouches rip I tape them shut and use again.*I've had the same batch of these for years literally and keep microwaving them each time they turn pink.* Hot tip - defrost the pouches for for 5-6 min then shake each one and flip them over before defrosting for 5 more min. Times and settings vary greatly so start with 3 min or if defrost by weight / meat type etc, try fish setting for 1 lb to start for example. Start low and see how the color changes to get used to it. ***Always defrost ONLY**Hot tip 2 - arrange pouches in a single ring around the edge of a plate to effectively recharge without overheating or uneven results. Let them cool and then store in air tight container once they are deep blue again.I LoVe my "Dry Guys" haha. My wife and I call them that.

Whether dry canning food or tucking away into mylar bags, these silica packets are an absolute must!!! Fun fact: if already soaked up moisture can "reset" them with a quick low temp toast in the oven. I really, really tried to research and find the safest option for food storage. Seems to work great - AS LONG AS YOUR CONTAINER IS A GOOD CONTAINER AND PROPERLY SEALED!!!Once you open this container, the unused silica packets need to be stored with care. We found massive Ball canning jars (glass) work best and then just dry vaccuum a canning lid on them using our Foodsaver attachement. To open simply use the blunt end of a manual can opener. Once pull out # you want, reseal the jar (see above for steps) and keep going. The idea is to be as quick as you possibly can and once in the mylar bag zip if can but then heat seal it asap. Doing a few at a time vs. massive batches or just singles will help limit time/exposure to the packets.FYI: We've come across some duds of mylar bags before finding the perfect ones. I am finally back to buy more, although I still have many of my original bought 4 years ago. I wanted to get some that visibly change colors when full. These are fantastic & work. They keep your jewelry from tarnishing & moisture out of shoes. These have no scent or anything to effect food & keep flour & sugars dry, vitamins etc. Even their basic packets (that don't change color) can be recharged via oven or microwave & used continuously. I wanted some that change color so it's easier to know when to recharge. You'll keep finding ways to use these!
