If you have some experience with can lights, here's what you need to know.
If you have some experience with can lights, the main takeaways from my early first impressions are that this is a good quality and easy to install consumer/residential grade remodel can light fixture. The wiring connects via European style wire connectors inside of a removable wiring block in a housing that doesn't have to be fastened to anything. The fixture itself clamps itself to the ceiling by two little "flags" that slide up or down via a worm drive and philips head screw driver inside of the can. I found the template just a hair too small so just be a tad bit generous if using a drywall knife. NOTE! Even though these are legacy style can lights, they are really intended for use with LED modules, and if you were hoping to avoid using those, as was I, you will need to use "short neck" PAR 30 bulbs. If you don't they will stick out below the ceiling and look silly. You can adjust how low the socket goes but because it's a "shallow" fixture there just isn't enough room to use a standard PAR 30 and have that deep in the fixture traditional look to it.

Only use this version from Halo!
Only use this version! I tried the other 6” low profile remodel version from Halo at a big box store. Had spent 3-4 hours getting three of them installed, wrangling with the clips, bending them in and out, trying to use force etc. Finally I gave up and tried to look for a different solution. This model is what I found, and it was SO much BETTER. Easier to install and great results. Had all nine lights up in an hour. Each can was tight against the ceiling the screw locking mechanism worked so well... no fiddling around. This model also has two strain reliefs, and wire connectors attached to the housing which made The electrical a breeze... wonder why HALO doesn’t design all their remodel lights with the same features...

Works Great!
I tried the similar size Halo snap ring design first from my local big box store, was terrible. Springs very hard to snap in place, once in came out when next one was installed. Ordered this for the screw/clamp method. Very easy to install and securely clamped.

Easy and quick install
Great for an old work install. The low profile made the install a breeze. I used a Romex cable and snapped the 3 leads into the supplied clip. Took less than 5 minutes. Got the Halo trim cones and they fit perfectly though, because the cans have a lower profile, the 2 springs - which are sized for the full profile cans - must be stretched further to hold the trim in place. In my case, I stretched the springs to the same hole in the can's base plate so that they pulled in opposite directions. Not elegant but the BR30 bulb hides my "clever" adaptation.

Great Cans. Not a good price though.
I paid about fifteen bucks a piece here on amazon. just to get the prime shipping to my customers house. I could have just picked them up from platt electric for about 5 bucks cheeper. The screw taps are amazing and absolutely worth any additional cost I can not believe it took this one for someone to make a better product. I to wish there were three, They are easy to over tighten so be careful.Lastly, one of the twelve i ordered was very dented. It took several minutes to get straightened out, i had no choice and had to finish the job. I got it installed with a hammer lol. In the end an amazon support rep made it right.

My favorite remodel can
First time I used this one but it's my favorite so far. I used it in a 2x6 framed ceiling with plywood on top for storage. This fit perfectly. I had to move the insulation and there is none on top of course but there is some around the sides.Very easy to install. Comes with a circle template to cut the hole for a tight fit. Took only about 15 minutes since my wiring was already there. What I like most is the screw down supports like those plastic remodel electrical boxes. Just turn the screws from inside and the flap turns out and screws tight to the drywall. This is definitely secure and tight. The wires are shoved into a plastic holder that not only holds the power wires and the wires for the light but connections for two more for each power, neutral and ground. Plus it swivels up for easy access.I am using a one piece LED fixture that includes it's own trim but there are holders if you use trim and regular bulbs.Overall, easy to install and tight fit.
