I bought 3 of these in 2018. They are well made. Function as intended. Just a solid tool. Seems too well made for the modern era.

If you've ever worked in the hospitality industry, as a bartender, sommelier, server, bar back, etc, you've probably carried a wine key like this one. You can buy one that's significantly more expensive, but this wine key is not noticeably inferior to the more expensive version, and there's certainly not enough of a difference to justify the price. If you need to uncork bottles of wine, you should buy this product. Home wine drinkers who don't work in the hospitality industry are probably more comfortable with a winged corkscrew, but once you learn how to use a double hinged wine key, you will realize that they're much faster, easier to use, and take up a lot less space in your drawer. They're also convenient to travel with.This particular wine key is double hinged, which is much better than a single hinged wine key, as you can use leverage to pull out the entire cork without having to use force to pull against the bottle. Once you've removed the foil cap, simply insert the worm (the corkscrew part) into the middle of the cork, and twist the wine key clockwise and/or twist the bottle counterclockwise until the worm is all the way inside the cork. Then, using the handle as leverage, put the first hinge on the lip of the bottle and pull up on the handle, pushing the hinge down against the bottle. After the cork comes most of the way up, switch to the second hinge, putting it on the lip of the bottle and lifting up on the handle again, until the cork is totally removed.This wine key is solidly built. It feels sturdy and ergonomically fits to my hand. The beer bottle opener works well and quickly with very little effort. The worm goes into synthetic corks extremely easily with no friction at all, and goes into real corks with very little friction. The foil cutter is serrated and not too dull, but if you need to open wine bottles quickly, you should buy a standalone foil cutter anyway. And you really can't beat the price. I bought a few extras and keep them in my bag at work, so if a server or fellow bartender forgot to bring a wine key, I don't have to lend them the one I'm using and then go find them to get it back.In conclusion, if you want a decent double hinged wine key for a great price, buy this one. I hate using the various contraptions that are now available for opening wine bottles, preferring to do it with a standard corkscrew. But some are really flimsy and don't work well. Not this one. It's built like a tank and is a breeze to use.

I've had this wine bottle opener for over 2 years now and it has definitely given me my money's worth. It's easy to use and gets the job done. I love the weight of it; it doesn't feel like a cheap wine opener. The durability of it is more than I thought it would be. It kept its sharpness for longer than other similar products I have purchased. The corkscrew and bottle opener as well as the little foil cutter are still functional after the several hundred times I have used them. One thing that disappointed me though is that it isn't scratch resistant. The matte black gets scratched off and exposes the stainless steel beneath it.

This is a superb wine corkscrew - beautifully made, compact design, works efficiently, easy to store or carry around. I find manual corkscrews work faster and more efficiently than the electronic ones - plus no need to store the bulkier electronic versions, or to make sure your devices are charged before a party. I love that this comes in many different color / texture options, a little cosmetic touch that makes it a just a little bit more pleasant to use than it already was

LONG STORY SHORT:I bought a 5 pack of cheap corkscrews, and quickly realized, that even in a corkscrew...quality matters. I sent them back, and bought 2 of these instead. They're great.PROS:-Great quality. Good material. Smooth hinges.-ALL black. including the foil cutter, which makes it next level.-Matte finish makes it grip more easily.CONS:-Straight and serrated foil cutter blade. When I was a bartender, I always preferred a curved one. But i'm not a bartender anymore, and I open far less bottles of wine.CONCLUSION:-Spend a little extra money on getting this NICE corkscrew instead of some cheapy one. ya get what you pay for, and this one is great!
