A bit finnicky, but a very good solution
I went through my entire set of foil seals before writing this review. Overall, I really like this as an option. My goal was to reduce cost overall, and to be able to use my choice of coffee brand in my Nespresso Pixie. It takes some time and some patience to do every day, and I still have some days where the pod will pour out the back instead of into the cup.Pros:- The tamper is perfectly sized to fit into the inner funnel of the pods, so you can get a good tamp on the coffee grounds. It's a solid weight while being compact.- Package comes with a solid set of adhesive foil tops, I use 2 at a time (occasionally 3 on tired days) several days a week, which lasted me from August - November- Case can be retained to stow everything if you don't have a lot of space- Scoop included is perfect size to pour into the pods- Rubber seals are bright orange, helping to distinguish them by colour from grounds (still cons below related to this)- Definitely helped me cut out my starbucks addiction, and thereby save plenty of money!- Solid manufacturing, good quality rubber seals & metal for both the tamp and the podsCons:- Those orange seal rings! To clean properly you need to remove them, and they will go back in without too much issue. The problem comes in when you're emptying the coffee into a bin...and the ring often goes with it. I lost the first ring within 2 days of using the pods, before I realised that was an issue to be on watch for. As it is I've had to be careful not to drop them in the trash so I don't have to lose or dig them out.- The brush is pretty useless, and why is it white for goodness sake?! It's like a keyboard brush, I tried it out and quickly stopped. I recommend a bamboo skewer in general, it does the trick much better and can be used to hang on to the little ring seals while you empty the pods- The fact that these pods are solid metal means that you can't yank them out immediately and clean them, unless you've got very callused fingers.- If you do decide to try the above, you'll find that the adhesive from the foil tops will stay on the metal if you remove them while hot- Requires time compared to most other options other than french press. This should be obvious but it's still a con; I usually take ~7min to fill, tamp, and seal 2 pods but I don't hurry- Sometimes the pod pours into the reservoir instead of into the measuring cup I use; at first I thought this was from over filling, but reducing the amount of grounds didn't stop it from recurringAside from the orange seals going on walkabout and the waiting to clean aspects, I strongly recommend these as an option for espresso coffee addicts

Well made and better for the environment, but a little tricky to use.
I purchased these for use in a Nespresso D60 Pixie machine. The capsules are very well made, as are the supplied accessories. Everything you need (except the coffee) is included in the kit. I love that I am not throwing out used plastic pods every day, and also that I can experiment with different beans and roasts while saving some money on expensive pods. The product only gets four stars from me for two reasons:(1) It would be nice if additional pods were sold separately. Packing three at a time can sometimes be a little annoying. It would be better if I could pack six or more at the same time so I don't have to refill EVERY day.(2) The instructions are NOT very good. There is no guidance as to what grinds work best, and exactly how much coffee to use and how tightly to pack. My Nespresso machine is very sensitive to the grind and tamp. If too fine a grind is used, or the capsule is packed too tightly, very little coffee will be produced. If too coarse a grind is used, the coffee will be watery.I'm still experimenting, but so far the best results I've had (which were pretty good) have been a fine grind on a self-serve supermarket (e.g. in Whole Foods) grinder and packing the capsule fully, with only a light tamp (I use the measuring spoon rather than the tamper). I found the coffee weak when using a drip or french press grind, and the flow was poor or non-existent when packing too tightly (i.e. using the included tamper), or using an espresso grind from a coffee store (e.g. Starbucks, Coffee Bean). My machine just can't force the water through a true espresso grind. This could very easily be a five star product if additional capsules were available, and the manufacturer provided detailed instructions with the product (or even on its website) for the best coffee to use and troubleshooting problems. You are on our own figuring out what works; but stay with it, because the pods do work well once you figure them out.

Good Ristretto Shots
I love being able to use my own coffee - there are so many varieties out there that I don't want to be limited by the prefilled capsules. That's why I want to use refillable capsules, even though it's a bit more work. I have tried 2 brands, these and the Recaps. Both make good ristretto shots, but watery regular shots (they each hold only about 4.5 g of coffee, rather than the 7 g normally used for a regular espresso shot). Recaps has simpler lines and is easier to clean, but you can't get replacements for the gasket. These come with replacement gaskets. And when you're first testing out how to fill these capsules, you'll probably blow at least one gasket.I just wish I could get just the capsules without another little scoop and tamper and brush. Since it takes 3 capsules to make 2 good shot equivalents, that means I have to fill 3 capsules every time I want espresso. It would be nice to be able to fill a couple days worth of capsules (yes, that's heresy to those that grind immediately before use, but I'm not terribly cogent in the mornings so I fill ahead of time). Also, I'd like to get a simple little stand that would hold these things stable while I'm filling and tamping, and a funnel to help fill the grounds. I've jury-rigged something, but it only holds one capsule. A stand would help me set up a little assembly line and help collect any grounds that fall to the side.FYI, when you get grounds stuck in the little holes, I've found that the pick from my old nut cracker set is great for cleaning out the holes.
