Thwarts the tumbler-tossing cat
I ordered this because my cat developed a new habit of chucking my water tumbler off my desk. This has solved the issue. I selected this cup holder because the clamp has enough space to clear the lip on the bottom of my desk. It’s working great so far. No spills, and I only have to tighten the bolt on the bottom occasionally to keep it secure. Well worth the price.

very sturdy
got 3 of these for me and 2 of my people for Christmas. My daughter and I go to in person crafting events and with table space being valuable, not mention we wokr mostly with paper the idea of being able to have out cups nearby but not on the table was very appealing. SADLY, these don't fit on the tables that are used at the events we go to. Mine will now have a permanent spot at my home desk where it holds even my 30 oz insulated stainless steel tumbler very solidly. If only it could be made so it could be used on thicker tables (3" maybe) it would be perfect.

Functional but not as sturdy as I hoped
While providing a great area to store a cup or charge a phone, the table securement isn't as robust as I had hoped. Even when clamped down there is some wiggle in the fit. I'm not sure if this would be remedied by a wider clamp or if different materials would be best.It is worth noting the underside of the screw portion does not rotate freely as I thought, but matches the screw rotation as you tighten it. This may present scratch concerns on certain materials. Just be aware.

Drink holder to go.
Ever have that desk or counter top that you really wanted a cup holder but couldn’t find a way to make it happen. Good news, this cup holder attaches almost anywhere you can imagine that you would want a cup holder. I was so impressed with the ease in attaching these cup holders that I got three of them for my over the bed table to hold my bottles of water that I keep to quench my late night thirst. They are sturdy, secure, durable, and perfect for holding any normal size bottle of water.

Great cup holder but.... update!
Update!Michael responded to my photo and review and sent me a new Cup Holster and even included an extra clamp to replaced the faulty one from my first Cup Holster. Top notch customer service. Got the new one installed on the desk and it works perfectly. No leaning cups now.The one I got will not stay anywhere close to level. If you look at the photo, I haven't even tightened it down yet and it's already leaning. If it wasn't in the spot it's in, with the screw part up against a piece of metal, it completely contorts and I can't even tighten it down. Perhaps I just got a bad one but, I'm not ordering another to find out....

Overtighten? Spillage. Undertighten? Droppage.
This is almost a perfect product. It's so close, and it's so overpriced for what it is. This is a small c-clamp that's made of plastic and a mounting rail for the cup to hold your beverage. The cup is fantastic, removable for cleaning (if that ever needs to happen) and can be mounted in 3 ways to allow your mugs with handles to have their handle accessible from any 90 degree angle away from the mounting point. Great design. The c-clamp is made entirely of smooth plastic and there's no friction enhancement for the mounting mechanism included in the package. That means the Cup-Holster is attached to the desk almost entirely on tension alone. I've overtightened this product as a means of not wanting my drink to fall off my desk entirely, but this causes the cup to tilt and spill my drink over time. Undertightening the device causes the apparatus to fall off the desk edge over time. This leaves me in a Goldilocks scenario where I have to find just the right amount of tension to keep things to the desk but not tilt them. Other products resolve this issue with a friction enhancement like a silicone pad and that would enhance the product here.

Sturdy and versatile cup holder!
I like LARGE drinks, my day-to-day drink cup is a 52-oz Double Gulp from 7-Eleven which fits very well in this cup holder. The tapered bottom fits in the cup part, the bottom suspended about 3/4 inch from the bottom of the holder, which is fine because I have a folded paper towel there to catch condensation. For hot drink lovers who use mugs, the cup part has an open slot for your mug handle. It securely slides over its rail to position the slot in one of three positions (3, 6, or 9 o'clock) so the open slot for your cup handle can be away or to either side of the clamp. The plastic C-clamp is very secure and made of thick hard plastic.I'm not sure what the "sawhorse" at the top of the clamp is, I think it's so you can wind a cord around it if you're using it as a headphone stand. This is really well-designed and the only thing I could wish for is a "sideways" clamp or a hook type clamp that could clamp to the side or hang over the top of a vertical wall/partition.

It does the job well, and is a great value.
Its such a simple thing, a cup holder that attaches to the side of your desk that is deep enough and wide enough to hold every cup and bottle I have tried. You would think that there would be dozens of them to choose from, but there aren't, there's just this one and a couple dozen sellers selling one other one in different colors. Its a good thing that this product is a genuine 5 star device, that being the case, because the other one has some pretty obvious flaws. For those looking for a size comparison, the holder portion is about the same size as the cup holders in my car. A standard 12 oz can sits loosly in it, but the cup is so deep that even a hard bump doesn't cause a spill. It holds a large McDonald's cup perfectly on the other end of the spectrum. I haven't tried it with a handled mug, but I suspect the slot cut for the handle might be a bit thin for some; I would recommend sticking with insulated tumblers instead. The mounting mechanism is an obvious weak point in the design, as it's very thin and the contact point for the "foot" of the screw clamp is only about the size of a dime. However, it did the job just fine, so I am not going to knock them for it.
