Although it may not be a 5 star, it is definitely a 4.75 star. Well built and a great big area for all tile sizes which keeps everything well balanced. The cuts are mostly strait but occasionally produces jagged edges but I fear that may be operator error. Definitely worth the money and eliminates the need for a wet saw and running up and down the stairs to the wet saw.

fast cuts compared to a wet saw at least. the tool itself is solid qualty. but i cant know if the cheaper 100dollar qep model would do just as well?anyways i got some broken ends (like one reviewer showed) but mostly on DIAGONAL CUTS....i think becauseyoure going across the waffling on the reverse side, however, my straight cuts were ok but i still...HAD TO GRIND DOWN THE IMPERFECT EDGES WITH ELECTRIC ANGLE GRINDER.ALL IN ALL....wet saw wouldve been 7.5 times more work but prolly perf cuts.this cutter should last for years. im sure i saved $1,000 on tile labor by DIY, but i NOW-KNOW one thing for sure......TILING IS LIKE A LABORIOUS ART....IT AINT EASY....(and it cant be rushed)....theres alot of particulars involved that needs focused attention. but dont let that stop you.watch some youtube videos like ....sal diblasi and tile master Ga. i did, and it helped. thanks. and good luck.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong with this but this broke off a corner of 100% of the tiles I tried to cut with it. I've used tile cutters before for smaller tiles, 12", and very seldom did it break a tile off of the score line. I cut about 8 and they all broke a corner and I'm to the point I need to go and buy more tile and I'm tired of messing with this thing.

I have done 5 bathrooms with this , 3x6 subway tiles and the cuts are still clean.Its made out of quality and would recommend it to any small contractor

This tile cutter was not new and clearly had been previously used and did not arrive in the original box. Will be returning the item.
