Very happy with Toyuugo food vacuum sealer, does what it says, still trying it out but very happy. The sealer comes with a free roll of ""bags"" which is in the machine itself, which is a nice space saver but something to consider when you're bouncing around fuming that you didn't get sent it!Note that it's essentially one big open bag, so first you need to seal one end, just feed it at the bottom as per the pic, close it (make sure it clicks) and click seal. Then load up your bag with what you want, weirdly i used paintbrushes as I need to keep them from drying out as i want to reuse them on the weekend. Feed the open end under the half tube that comes out, close the lid (making sure it clicks again) and click the vac seal button. It will then suck the air out, and seal the bag, and gives a progress indicator as well as flashing on what operation it's doing. If you've loaded it wrong, or it can't get a good vacuum, or seal it won't finish and you just hit cancel and start again.I'm sure we'll get through the free roll in no time, because of the variety of things it can be used for and will buy some more.Recommended buy.

Have Some Patience. It WORKS FINE.
A couple days ago. I was a vaccum sealing a large order of lunch meat for the year. And my old trusty machine I have had since the 90s. Finally died mid job. So in desperation I took to Amazon searching for a cheap yet functional. Food saving machine. With Christmas coming. My bank account is not too full. So I wanted to find a cheap yet functional machine. So I scoured the reviews of several Vaccum sealers under $100....I looked at several. But this one was on sale for $38.98. And had mostly positive reviews. Along with a hand full of reviews saying the product simply did not work....But there was the same amount of negative reviews saying the same about Savers that cost much more.So I decided. Well. I'm gonna take the risk. Buy this cheap one. And if it doesn't work I am only out $40 compared to $100 or over.At first when I opened this product. I was skeptical. The box was banged up. And I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get it to work. You have to hold it closed in a certain way. Or you won't get a deal. But it DOES work. It just takes some fiddling around with it and ALOT of patience. It does have this mode. Where if the machine feels that it is getting too hot. It will shut off and a red light will glow. You are supposed to let it cool 10-20 minutes. When the machine is ready it will glow blue lights across the top.Down side being I could only seal about 3-4 bags and then it would overheat and I would need to give it a break. So not the most fast/efficient machine. So I will take a star off for that.BUT IT WORKED!!I got my entire order of meats and cheese safely preserved and into the freezer. Is this a long term replacement? Ehhh...Too soon to tell. But I'm thinking probably not. But I feel like I got my $40 worth! And that's all I care about.I will come back and update when I go to use it again. To let you know if it is still working nicely.

Best Advice: Vacuum items in stages. Then it works great.
The sealer does exactly what it says it should do. I've used it for bags and jars. One thing you have to remember: It's not a Professional Vacuum Sealer so don't expect it to suck out every last bit of air nor expect it to vac/seal more than about 5 bags/jars within a 10 to 20 minute period. As it clearly states in the broken English directions it needs a rest after just so many uses. You may notice a couple of beeps if you try to seal too many bags too quickly OR the CANCEL light may come on continually and nothing will work. It's because it's resting! It WILL come back on after it cools down. To avoid all of that space out your projects. Prepare the food, vac/seal a couple. Go back and do the same thing. You can even take up some time by writing the item and dates on the packages before or after vac/sealing them. A sip of wine in between does wonders to calm the nerves and take up some time. I also found one fantastic trick to save machine resting times. During the week whether or not I plan on sealing anything I make times throughout the day just to cut and seal the unopened areas of the bags. I make a variety of sizes knowing full well I'll end up using them. I also found ways to conserve bags: Roll out an estimated length of bag and then seal it. Do this for about 5 bags. Then after a sip (or two) of wine take each bag and turn it so that you can now seal it down the middle of the width. Seal it twice in the middle leaving just about 1/8th inch space in between. Then with a scissors, cut the bags in half. Now you have two bags!If you don't have the patience to do the above I suggest buying a Pro Model for about $200-$800+I even bought an extra one and gave it to my sister who loves to cook. She loves it.My latest projects: Semi frozen stews, soups and chilies. Beef jerky, smoked fish, fish fillets, and the usual chicken, pork etc. I buy in bulk and then vac/seal olives, salad dressings, chili, and more things that come in gallon or large containers. It's so much less expensive to buy in bulk and then vac/seal it.Hope you all enjoy the sealer! Just for your information I was not compensated in anyway. I'm just a consumer like you.

a good product
I have no basis for comparison, but I received my vacuum sealer today and am more than impressed. I had a bunch of venison slim Jim's and jerky to seal and freeze and used up all the included bags and rolled plastic. The process is easy and fast, and it is very obvious if the seal hadn't formed. You need to give the sealer 40 seconds in between seals, which isn't an issue considering you have to load the bags. I wanted a sealer primarily for cooking sous vide, and I didn't want to spend a ton or waste a ton of space on a giant one. This little guy is great. It reminds me of the size of the shredder part of a paper shredder. Easy to carry up from the basement storage and easy to set up. I'm not sure why anyone would pay any more for a sealer than this? This does everything I need it to do.
