Money Saver.
This is my second one. Didn't get five stars because it is a little hard to use. It definitely works though once you get the hang of it.

This leather tool is easy to use and of high quality
The Tandy lace cutter for leather that I received is of very good quality and build. I used it to cut long pieces of leather lace to be used for braid. It is easy to use and appears to be very durable long lasting and of good quality. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a quality tool to manually cut leather lace for braiding.

Just what I needed
I was working on making a pair of moccasins out of deer hide for my Dad. I needed 3 yards of lacing. I looked up how to make leather lacing and a couple different videos used this tool. It was a little harder for me to use because deer hide is so soft but once I got it started, I got several yards of lace out of a little piece of hide. Well worth the purchase. I'm really glad it came with extra blades too.

If you can get this started, it's amazing
This lace-maker is hit-or-miss. When it works, it's amazing how much lace a piece of scrap leather will create. The trouble is, it's a pain to get it started! It ends up mangling a good quarter of the center before finally catching the edge just right to start making lace. Once it does start, however, it's super easy to just pull a ton of consistent lace.

It WORKS on the right leather
Remarkable tool. But it has a trick. You need at least a 2 inch hole in center of leather to get it rolling. I found a You Tube video on how to use this tool. It took me a few minutes of frustration but once the hole was bigger and I got a "string of leather showing it whirled along and I got a pile of laces. A lot of it being successful is your leather. It might not be you or the tool. Really thin stuff seems to be a problem. Leather that is really uneven in thickness is quirky too. I found that the thicker, in width, strips worked the best for me. In general it works. Don't be afraid. I wish I had invented it.

took me 5 minutes
I wanted some nice thick deer hide lace to make hat bands, Cost to much to buy precut. Saw this item, have lots of scrap pieces so gave it a try. Took about 5 minutes to get the hang of it and away I went. I used scrap hide pieces that I would have normally tossed. Now, from a piece about 10" sq I ended up with about 100 of top grade lace and make my bands to my western hats. Cool item to add to my leather tools.
