This is how toilet seats should be made.
EDIT: It is now nearly 5 years since purchasing. Still going strong. I have not had to tighten, the soft close still works as if new, no stains-looks brand new, no breakage anywhere. Not once has it ever shifted on the bowl. I will never buy any other brand.I'm a bigger guy, 300+ pounds. And no matter my size, I've always had issues with toilet seats twisting, loosening, sliding off the bowl and the bumpers breaking off.I was tired of replacing toilet seats every year or two. This thing is well built, solid and will last for a long time with the right care.I love the design of the seat. The bolts are steel and molded solidly into the hinges of the seat. All you have to do is slide it into the holes on the bowl and attach the nuts. The nuts are a harder plastic so they won't bend and twist but they're not so brittle that they will break. The nut is a long threaded sleeve that covers nearly the entire length of the bolt. It also has what looks like a standard nut molded onto the end of the "sleeve" that intentionally breaks away when the right amount of torque is reached to secure the seat. This provides the right amount of pressure to hold the seat to the bowl without over torquing and potentially damaging the bowl or seat. And boy does it keep it snug to the bowl. No slippage or twisting here. All that is needed is a standard 5/8" wrench. I used a 5/8 ratchet box end wrench which made it real easy. The bumpers are a harder rubber material that provide complete coverage on the rim of the bowl. The bumpers sit down into a molded cavity with a ridge all the way around to help keep the bumper from moving back and forth and breaking or twisting off.The soft close feature is awesome as well. No unexpected slamming of the seat and causing you to jump out of your skin. Or, if you have grandkids like at my house, no slamming of the toilet seat after they are done using it.

No more SLAM!!!
It's kind of weird writing about a toilet seat. But everybody uses one everyday - many times. We came across this seat a very long time ago. We added the first one with skepticism and was immediately hooked thereafter. The slow close feature is incredible. No more waking everyone in the house up in the middle of the night by the harsh sound of a dropped toilet seat. The slow close feature lasts for around ten years before it begins to fail on average (8 years in the busiest restroom, 12 years in the least used). The material the lid and seat are made of is second to none. They are very durable and solid through and through. No more swollen wood under a thin plastic coated seat and lid that require regular annual replacement. The finish on the seat and lid will remain beautiful as long as you care for it with cleaning solutions, not scouring pads and pumice based scrubbing compounds. Most of the damage we've experienced has been by something like screwdriver in my back pocket when I sit down to tie my boots. I have wrongfully and unsafely stood on mine many times. NOT a good idea. But a statement of their strength and durability. I think someone standing on one to look out the window is what broke the hinge after 12 years of service. They are exceptionally easy to install. The porcelain of toilets can be cracked by over tightening the bolts/nuts that hold a seat in place. This seat has bolts/nuts that have a self limiting torque feature wherein the nuts snap off when the desired torque value is achieved. Therefore your seat and lid are tight enough to stay in place, but not so tight the porcelain gets broken. Once the seat is set, it stays in place. It does not slip and twist when you sit on it (or wrongfully stand on it...). So enjoy! :)

easy to install
Installation was easy, good value, and arrived undamaged. Not sure about durability, bolts are inserted in plastic

Durable, Sturdy, Easy to Clean
Slow close functionality works great, easy to clean, and hasn't wiggled loose for the several months we've been using it. Highly recommend.

High quality toilet seat that works with our Toto toilet
Huge upgrade over the Bemis wooden toilet seat that it replaced on an old Toto toilet. The soft close is much softer, and the seat stability is way better. We'll see how it holds up, but I've had no issues with these toilet seats in the past.

I have installed quite a few toilet seats in my day and these are the best. Very easy to install and look good. They close nice and easy and are a good value for the money.
