S&B Golden Curry Sauce Mix, Medium Hot, 8.4-Ounce (5 Packs)

I lived in Japan back in the early 1990's and this Golden curry was a weekly meal we enjoyed. Ever since moving back to the states, I've been buying this at the local Asian grocery store, but the prices were always a bit high. Over time it became more popular in the US, and I started seeing it in the local grocery stores, but again, it was even more expensive, so we didn't make it as often as I would have liked.Now, finding it on Amazon, it's the best price I can find, and I don't have to spend gas/time driving down to the Asian store to buy it, it just shows up on my porch, usually within 48 hours or so. Can't beat that!If you haven't tried this curry, I highly recommend it. Also, my wife doesn't like spicy food at all, but she likes the flavor of the green box (medium hot) much better than the mild. it's really not spicy, but has great flavor.Everyone may have different ways of making it, but we typically cube and brown some chicken breast, then add potatoes, carrots, and onions, along with water, and boil until the carrots are soft. Then take the block of curry out of the box and chop it up a bit as this helps it disolve into the nice stew it creates. Add it to the pot with the meat and veggies, and let it simmer a bit, and then serve it with sticky rise (calrose). So good!Be sure to make more than you need so you have extra for lunch the next day at work. :-)

Love this stuff and my local grocery store no longer carries it. This, some protein and veggies and put on the rice cooker and - BANG - a good and easy dinner.

Excellent product and fast shipping

This is the best stuff and the best deal. Not really hot, just a little. I usually cook 2-3 lb. cut-up chicken pieces to brown, and then add the water and a bag of frozen asian vegis and cook for 15 min, then add the curry and cook and stir another 5. Meanwhile I cook rice, it all gets done about the same time. Then we have left overs for a couple days which is awesome.

Good value, I like a little hotter so I put more hot peppers in it.

so I am addicted to this mix. I am not normally someone who likes to eat the same dish day after day (unless its chocolate) especially for all three meals. But when I tell you that I ate a big pot of curry 3x a day for 3 days straight (whether we made it in beef or chicken) I mean it. However they did the spices were spot on. i will say using angus beef chuncks for the beef or even lamb and having home made lamb or beef stock to mix into the sauce mix makes it even better. This was a warm hug for my soul. You owe it to yourself to buy this. This brought so many warm fuzzies into my soul. I actually felt guilty because I ate most of the curry. (everyone else addmitely had one bowl twice a day and i had 2 bowls 3x a day) but it was that good. I ate it alone or over sushi rice. or with extra potatoes. any way you slice it this curry mix is now a regular stable in my household
