Keeps Food Fresh and Pests Out — A Must-Have for Pet Owners!
This Vittles Vault container is a total game-changer for storing pet food! The airtight seal is incredibly effective — it keeps the kibble fresh and completely odor-free, and I haven’t seen a single bug or ant since switching to this container. The stackable design is a huge space-saver in my pantry, and the build quality feels super sturdy. It holds a full 40-pound bag of dog food with ease, and the screw-on lid is easy to open and close. I love that it’s made in the USA and BPA-free. If you’re looking for a reliable, long-lasting storage solution for your pet’s food, this is it. Highly recommend!

Excellent storage!
This was a great purchase and has been a fantastic addition to our pet care setup. It's built extremely durable and the quality is obvious right away. The sealing lid works perfectly - locks in freshness, keeps moisture out and completely contains any food smells. I've noticed my dog's food stays fresher for longer. Overall, this is a reliable, well designed storage container that does exactly what it promises. If you're looking for a way to keep your pet's food fresh, organized and odor-free, this is 100% with it.

Ideal food storage for small homes!
First I should state: every dog food holder WILL only hold x amount depending on how big your kibble is and how it's shaped. don't be mad if you don't fit exactly 40 gallons or so of kibble in these if your kibble is of certain sizes, weights, or shape! that's to be expected. This fit my Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach in here pretty well! I'd say only about 3 or so LBS was left over in the bag (40 lbs bag, triangular shapes) and I put that in my other vittles vault I use to keep treats/food in the bag where I can. Ideally you want to keep a dog food bag in these, but if you can't fit the bag make sure to clean the containers after every use or every other use and dry.To me I've found them durable, they've got great capacity depending on your storage needs and what shape you get, and the food is always nice and fresh. Added a stainless steel scoop in it for extra cleanliness. To me this is worth investing in several to keep food, food bags, and treat bags in to keep bugs or humidity out depending on where you live. This will also be helpful in separating foods for my dogs in the future (my current dog has chicken sensitives, and this way I can keep her food from being contaminated!)

Gets the job done!
I first bought a pair of these about 15 years ago. At the time we had both dogs and cats and I was tired of cleaning ants out of the pantry, including the pet food. They seal tight and no more ants! Even when fighting (ich) mice or rats, they were not in the pet food. I do know someone who tried to keep these in an environment where raccoons could get to them, and those big critters did some damage. The 40 lb. vault barely held our 40 lb. bags of kibble. We were using a kibble that was at least 1/3" diameter (1 cm). To fully load the vault it had to be turned the tall way and the kibble tapped down. If you want to easily load 40 lbs. and you have the space, consider getting the 60 lb. size. My pantry was narrow and I wanted to save space.Another note about the fully loaded 40 lb. vault: If you stack it on top of another one the opening may get squeezed and a little hard to operate. But, still, no ants! I didn't care. Now after a few years without pets I bought a new one to gear up for a new dog. I did look around a bit for a good plastic free option and did not find anything I liked. I came back to another Gamma Vitals Vault.FYI, the company makes their lids in "food grade plastic" I you can put on food grade buckets for people foods. Even with the growing concern about plastic I am still using those for bulk quantities of foods I rinse like brown rice and dry beans. And still, no ants, or worse yet mice!

Good not great product
I’m a person that will read all the reviews before buying something so here is what I think about this product.I bought 3.1 for 20 ish pounds of white rice,1 for dog food. A 40 pound unopened bag of Kirkland lamb and rice and about 1/2 a 40 pound bag of Kirkland chicken and rice.1 for a 40 pound bag of Winco brand cat food. Missing @ 5 cups.I started out stacking them 3 high. Cat food on bottom, dog middle and rice on top. Rice and dog food I use daily and cat food I use 2xs a month. Automatic cat feeders are amazing! Can you stack them 3 high yes but no matter which order I tried putting them the bottom one was super hard to open because the opening warped from round to oval.So I tried stacking them two high. Dog food and cat food could not go together no matter which way I tried. The rice is just light enough that it barely warps the cat food but not enough to be unable to open it. But when I get a new bag of rice I’ll have to figure out something different because I normally buy the 40 pound bag.I wanted to check the claims about the containers collapsing so I put the dog food one on top of the other two for a few days. No bowing or bending though I was very disappointed with the fact that these have grooves in them and look like the should stack and hook into each other but they don’t at all. They are very unstable when stacked.I highly recommend putting them against a wall and using some of the no slip rug pad between the layers and don’t put it in a place animals or children can get to. They are not stable at all when stacked. That’s the negative now here’s the positive. They have a great seal. It’s great not to smell any of the animal food or worry about the moisture in the laundry room making the food go stale faster. The lid can be a little challenging to get back on but it has big enough gripping groves that me and my husband can get it on and off relatively easy. For comparison I wear kids sized gloves and he wears xl in men’s.When all three containers were stacked the dog food container was to full with 60 pounds of food in it. When you unscrewed the lid it would cascade out. After using 20 cups it was at the perfect point of full but not spilling. The picture with the metal measuring cup shows the sweet spot of where to fill it up so when you tilt it it stays in. That is a 1cup measuring cup.I like this product because it’s sturdy, can take beating and will keeps smells in and moisture, dogs, cats, kids and bugs out. Also it can actually hold more then just a 40 pound bag of food so you don’t have to be run out before you open a new bag. I don’t like this product because the claim of stackable is a Joke and I was really looking forward to being able to walk into my laundry closet.Am I going to return it? No. I’ve tried lots of different ideas. IKEA bins, rolly bin with hinge lid, kitty litter containers, trash cans. Out of everything these hold the most and do the best with smell.
