ASPARTAME
I didn’t realize that this formula contains aspartame until I got the can in front of me. The unflavored infant version of Elecare does not. It’s so upsetting that companies and the FDA think that it is okay to put aspartame in baby formula. There are other elemental formulas out there that don’t have aspartame. Please read the ingredients. Puramino has MSG as the 3rd ingredient. Mind blowing.

Aspartame as a sweetener
Though my daughter did seem to like this formula, and it didn't upset her stomach like some do(she has a milk protein sensitivity), I was disappointed to find that this has aspartame in it. I'd rather give her real sugar that aspartame. I just don't understand why they would use it in a toddler formula.

Adult user, provides nice break from food...
I actually really like this stuff. I have a lot of food intolerances, including severe histamine intolerance and a dairy allergy. Sometimes my body just needs a break from food, and I’ll actually crave this. I mix and drink it out of a camelback bottle, which I think helps to get past the vitamin smell, and I use 4 scoops (in a child sized camelback bottle) rather than the recommended 6 to avoid the bitterness. Give it a shot. Maybe you’ll be surprised.

It works for us but we don't exactly use as directed - using since baby was 3 months
This is very sweet. I only use one scoop of it per 14 scoops of regular Elecare to offset the awful taste as my baby won't drink as much of the regular Elecare without the sweetener. It is still very very sweet though as my fiance and I tasted it. It kind of tastes like a milkshake. I wouldn't give it to my child as a standalone meal but I don't think replacing a scoop or two of regular Elecare with the vanilla to make the whole concoction more palatable is going to cause any harm. My baby is almost 6 months old and we have been doing this for several months now with only progress to report.

Was NOT allergy-friendly, for us!
My son reacted to this formula, where he doesn't to the unflavored infant kind. I compared all the ingredients, & found several things that were questionable to me, such as aspartame.

Best formula for milk allergies, hands down!
Our baby has been on EleCare since he was brand new, thanks to a tongue tie and a milk protein and egg allergy. This is what the GI docs recommend for kiddos who cannot tolerate store brand formula. It helped him to gain weight on top of breastfeeding and pureed food. He still takes one bottle a day to help give him extra calories. He loves the vanilla flavor, and drinking it. It has been a blessing for him, and for us.

Vanilla Milkshake Sweet
This is so incredibly sweet, it's like a vanilla milkshake. While I have a sweet tooth, my baby refused to drink this. I don't have a prescription I just was hoping to do an ellumination diet to pinpoint her trigger foods and proteins. But it was a waste of money because it's too sweet for her .
