UNCLE BEN'S Converted Enriched Parboiled Long Grain Rice 10-Pound Bag

This is as good as the boxed rice from Uncle Bens. It may be the same thing at a much better price. I love it because it lasts after cooking, in the fridge for 3-5 days and I can cook it and make different things from it without it being turned to starch and losing it's plumpness. It is my favorite white rice.

It's great to be able to just take as much as you need - no matter if you're preparing a meal for just one person or for a whole family. Tastes great and it's a bargain at that price.

Since I started using Uncle Ben's Converted Rice a couple of decades or so ago, I've never gone back to plain white rice with the exception of savory rices such as Jasmine and the like (Uncle Ben's makes a Jasmine rice, also).I can't explain why I like it so much better, but I wouldn't use anything else for my fried rice dishes. It's easy to wash and cooks up nicely without ever being mushy as long as you stick to the two to one ratio of water to rice.A staple in my household.

Best price for this much rice, and delivered to my doorstep. If you are buying this much rice, then also think about getting some Sambal Oelek (see my other review) to put on it.

The rice good. This is new to me so I am still adjusting to the dryness of the rice. It is healthy because of the low GI and Vitamins.

We like this rice, delicious, tasty and the price is really good. Most of grocery stores offer only 5 lb max.

This rice had to many damage rice, found myself having to really clean because it look like mice droppings. I will not purchase again. I have used Uncle Ben rice for years. This the first time purchasing the restaurant style.!!

Good price on hard to find item. I bought this because I read that converted rice has a glycemic index of 38, whereas brown rice is around 55, and white rice around 90. I have long not cooked white rice for myself. I'm giving this 3 stars because it cooks up nicely and the grains are perfectly formed when you serve the "rice." And this is a good price. As to the flavor and quality of taste, I would give it a 2. You can tell that the flavor, starch, and fiber has mostly been washed out. I have decided I would rather have a bit higher glycemic index and have the taste and texture of brown rice than have perfect kernels that are tasteless. I am not diabetic, but I have friends who are and wanted to see how this might work for them. My grandkids, who only eat white rice, liked it okay. It is a nice vehicle for a spicy sauce. I doubt I will buy another package. I plan to stick with the full, whole grain in the future.
