Beautiful and long winded
Beautiful book, but definitely for older children. It is a very wordy book with amazing illustrations. I bought it for a 2 year old, and really I think it's a better fit for 6-8.

We enjoy the stories every night
Its hard to find those child bed time stories that have an equal amount of length of words, decent developing vocabulary to inspire your kids conversations and beautiful illustrations are are so complementary. I bought the rest of the trilogy because of it and how my kids respond.

Beautiful illustrations
Bought this used. It didn't say it on the product description but it was signed by the illustrator. The art is so well done. Truly lovely. The stories are more detailed than Disney and will hold the attention of kids 5 and over in my opinion. Heavy and with lots of pages. Book originally cost 19.95...letting you know so you don't get screwed on the price😉

Amazing Quality!
I absolutely love this book! I bought all three in the collection including Classic Fairytales, Storybook Fables, and Bedtime stories. I will buy anything with Scott Gustafson's artwork. It really brings the stories to life. Everything was printed well, all the pages are there, and the quality is high. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and will be buying more for my friend's child as well.

5 + stars a solid staple to add to anyone’s little ones bookshelf
Wanted to read Hansel and Gretel to the kids before “story character book dress up day at school” and that was 1 book we were missing from our fairytales so I researched and read reviews and this one kept popping up, I saw that it got rave reviews for the illustrations and it was a collection of fairy tales so I purchased it and the kids love just to look at the pictures, reading is a bit advanced for a 4 and 6 year old so this is one we practice and read together but we all love it! 5+ stars and highly recommend...this Is a staple fairy tale book to add to anyone’s collection whether it be for yourself or for a gift !

WONDERFUL BOOK!!
My grandson loves for me to tell him the 3 Little Pigs story and Little Red Riding Hood so I was trying to find a book for Christmas that had both stories in it. I am so happy that I found this book!!! It has beautiful illustration, it's truly gorgeous!! The book is sturdy and will last for many years! I can't wait to read him all the other stories too!!

Classic Fairy Tales in a Beautiful Package
I am always on the look out for a good book of fairy tales. There are numerous available today but most of them don’t appeal to me with their modern, often cartoony, illustrations. Most of those that I see in bookshops have a disposable feel to them: fine for a quick browse but underserving of a place on my bookshop.Classic Fairy Tales (ISBN 978-1579656867) by American illustrator Scott Gustafson first caught my attention last year when I was browsing on Amazon. I was impressed by the preview pages because the illustrations looked stunning: painstakingly hand drawn with vivid colours and striking depth. You could almost feel that you could step into the illustrations and enter the magical world of fairy stories.Even so, it wasn’t until a few days ago that I finally decided to order my copy and I was not disappointed. The illustrations were as beautiful as they had appeared on Amazon. The book features 10 stories over 150 pages. The stories are:Goldilocks and the Three BearsPuss in BootsLittle Red Riding HoodSnow WhiteTom ThumbHansel and GretelThe Frog PrinceRumpelstiltskinCinderellaThree Little PigsThe first thing that struck me about the book was that it was very big (27.4 x 2 x 30.5 cm), looking very much like a coffee book able. This may or may not bother you but the large format makes it more difficult to carry around – it won’t fit in a standard rucksack, for example. I like to carry books around but this book will probably not be travelling with me much.It seems to me that this book is designed as much for adults as it is for children. The retellings of the stories are longer than in most fairy tale books I own, each story having at least 20 pages. This might put off younger children, though the beautiful pictures, some appearing on a two-page spread, will help keep their interest and imagination ignited. Adults will appreciate the quality packaging, with the book clearly designed to last for generations with strong binding and thick, glossy pages. If you’re disappointed that your favourite fairy tale is not included in this book, Scott Gustafson has published at least three more compilations. I intend to collect them all.A highly recommended book of fairy tales.

Beautiful images, best suited to older readers
Beautiful book, really pictures that are to be marvelled at.More suited to parents than children because it's so good you'd like to keep it that way.My son (3) loved the pictures, but found the stories were too wordy to really keep his interest.I know in time to come though it'll be something to be treasured.

It's a must have for anyone
Scott Gustafson did an excellent job, you will be stuck for minutes just admiring the illustrations. The fairy tales are long and beautifully written. The book looks like it's gonna be in the family for a good half a century, its size is another great merit, it's just huge! This was my first S. Gustafson book. It's so worth the money, I'd easily pay three times as much.
