SonyXperia 1 - Purple

The Sony Xperia 1 has lots of excellent features including a colourful pin sharp ultrawide OLED screen, 4K camera and fast charging battery. Does everything I needed it to do. Was definitely worth the money.

Xperia 1 bought from Amazon on behalf of connected 247 excellent price and quick delivery would recommend this seller. The phone itself looks good and the transfer of virtually everything from my old xperia, all I had to do was redownload 2 apps and then create my folders with the apps. I cannot see me using the split screen and the camera pictures are not as clear and vivid as the one front and one rear on the XZ3 perhaps because there are less pixels on the new one. Video playback is about the same so nothing worse so far. The big disappointment is the battery life ,a full charge lasts well under 24 hours even using the Stamina mode. Update 16/09/2020 As an attempt to extend battery life decided to use the supplied plug and cable instead of my usual C set up and battery charges fully in under an hour and now lasts approx 48 hours, so good now.

Thank you to next-day. Highly recommend. No interest in & do not use face recognition nor fingerprint reader. Sony Xperia 1 does not thankfully have face recognition.

My husband loves his new Sony phone and loved the price even better!!!

Edit - 07/2021 - Decreasing my rating to 1 because this phone has known hardware issue with fingerprint reader and seller is not going to replace the device for you and you'll end up going in circles between seller, Amazon and Sony.Before I start the review I'd like to say that it is my 6th Sony Phone, one can say I'm a Sony fanboy but to be honest Sony phones have never disappointed me so I don't see a point in changing.I bought this phone for £515 which is a very amazing deal to buy a year old flagship phone from Sony, specially if you consider built quality of this phone. Its weight is perfectly balanced and it's easy to hold in hand.We can quickly talk about cons of this phone and I can only think of 1, i.e. no wireless charging, to be honest the more I think of it, I don't really feel the need of it as the battery lasts me long enough to put it on wall charge when I go to sleep. Can also last multiple days if I don't use it heavily.Now talking of pros, it feels very comfortable and amazing to hold in hand, 21:9 ratio works like a charm for day to day browsing of instagam, facebook or webpages. I don't watch many movies on phone but to test the 21:9 aspect ratio I watched few and the video quality , sound quality and the overall experience is just amazing. In my opinion 21:9 only brings more things to the table. I hope more manufactures look into this and more content creator use it for their contents.The camera app is great too, specially the slow-mo video and the creator app which lets you add cinematic filters to the video and also gives a level for stabilization. A perfect phone for anyone who wants to start vlogging or professional looking photographs.Overall, a great phone to own and use.

So far with this phone I have found it very comfortable to use even with its 21x9 aspect ratio. The interface only has a few of sony's own apps which means you nearly get a clean android experience. After trying the camera for the first time I was well reasonably impressed with the quality of the image. Would love to see the new pro photo app from Sony to come to this phone as the stock app isn't great. While watching a movie on the go I found the the screen was superb the colours were crisp and bright. My biggest problems I found was I miss the headphone jack and the speakers on this seem to be very unbalanced. Overall a very good phone but a little over priced.

Bought the Xperia 1 as needed a New Phone but didn't want to have a 2 year contract or a £1000 layout.The model is 18 mths old but it's solid, reliable and everything I actually need. Great price on Amazon and with the usual solid and fast service 👍
