Replaced the broken cam on my Samsung Fridge.
I moved this refrigerator and dropped it too hard on the floor, breaking this hinge cam. The freezer door would jump up and down, making a loud "pop" sound when opening and closing as a result. After taking the door off the hinge, I realized what broke, and ordered this assembly. NOTE: It would be cheaper to just by a plastic cam replacement, but I could not find a cam part replacement that was tied directly to my specific model. But this entire assembly was tied to the model, so better safe than sorry, I order the entire assembly.I replaced the left-lower hinge assembly on the Samsung Model RSG257AARS/XAA. I recommend when you remove the left (freezer) door that you simply lift up the door and lift out this hinge assembly with the door, all at once (after disconnecting the door water hoses, of course). The hinge assembly lifts out of a slot that is in a bracket mounted to the chassis of the fridge. That way, you are not worrying about pulling the water tubes out through the hinge pin. When you replace, and get ready to install--just thread both water tubes back through the hinge assembly's pin in advance, insert the hinge assembly's pin into the lower door, and lower the inserted assembly, with the door, into that bracket slot again. You might need to tape the hinge onto the lower door before lowering, as the pin may drop out (it is not captive).Worked great and solved my broken cam problem.

Worked, but really only needed the plastic Piece
DA66-00560B (Left Lower Door) / DA66-00559A (Right Lower Door ) These are the plastic part numbers. That is what tends to crack or break. We needed the part ASAP, so I bought this bracket that had it already installed. It worked great. It says Gray, but the bracket was Black. Just hated to spend the extra money for the metal. Recommend that you order these plastic pieces and have them on hand. A lot cheaper. Keep in mind to change the TOP pieces as well.

It’s not hard to replace refrigerator door hinges
This hinge fixed my problem. The refrigerator freezer door would not stay shut. After replacing the lower hinge, the door opens and closes perfectly!! It was also very easy to replace. Complete repair cost less than $20.00!!! I wonder what it would have cost if a technician came out???

Correct part to fix broken plastic cam, which is not available separately
This was the correct part to repair my Samsung RSG257AARS left lower hinge assembly which had a cracked lower cam (the black plastic ring bolted to the hinge). This plastic cam is not available as a separate part based on my research. Installation took about 45 minutes start-to-finish. The upper cam ring which attaches to the door IS available separately. I did not need this. Consult your user's manual for illustrations on removing the freezer door, particularly the water line clamps. User's manuals are available online as pdf's if yours is lost. When the job is finished and you reattach the water lines, Samsung suggests installing two red clips to insure a tight clamp. I still had my clips in a plastic baggie. I don't think they are initially installed at the factory, but are recommended to be used after the water lines have been disconnected the first time. Amazon's price on this part was competitive. That it included 2-day shipping and Sunday delivery was unbeatable! This job is easier with a helper to prevent damage to the door during removal/reinstall. The door itself is very light provided you empty the shelves and detach the ice bucket (both of which you should do).
