These molds are made of a firm and durable silicone that makes it easy to press fondant into. I like to dust my molds with corn starch and place in the freezer for a minute so that it demolds perfectly.Although the zebra stripes and giraffe spots are 3d I found it difficult to get fondant into the holes cleanly and opted to paint the stripes and spots on with gel food color. Dusting pink petal dust on 5he cheeks gives a cute blush effect.I love that I have 6 animals all in the same style. Super easy to use and get a consistent and professional looking result, even as a home chef.

Strong, durable and functional ... you ever wondered where you could get help with making safari animals...well look no more. This mold is easy to use, the animals are cute and the perfect size for cakes. The Giraffe and Zebra will require a bit more patience but the outcome you will certainly appreciate. Pop the molds in the freezer to unmold your characters. Add to your cakes and watch the excitement the characters will bring to your cakes. I copied the images and laminated them and keep them in a ziplock bag so each time I need to use my molds I have the inspiration photo to help me with making the characters as a reference.

I’m gonna start by saying that I almost gave up after unsuccessfully trying to make the giraffe. I gave it a second try and it worked!! So I will leave here some tips!1. I used Crisco food shortening in the molds! I used a brush to get every single spot. This willMake the figures out out of the mold easily.2. small details: instead of spending a huge amount of time in the small details, I just made the figures with a single color and later added the small details. It is faster this way and it looks cute. For the giraffe, I just added a gold edible dust. It looked beautiful.

Made these for a safari themed cake (see photo). I made the Lion, giraffe, elephant, and monkey. The elephant was the easiest and the lion was the most challenging for me. Nevertheless, they are adorable!
