Keeps rice, potatoes, hamburger, soups hot or cold while preparing the rest of the meal. Makes the prep coordination so much easier and efficient. Looks great on the table as well.

Works okay. Size and shape is good. Does not retain heat too long. Suggest the lid be redesigned to screw in to the bowl like the other better brand.

Let me start off by saying I love this bowl. Now, with that said, it is my cold food bowl. When I first got this I was hoping to use it for both hot and cold foods, but quickly discovered that it will not be used for hot foods unless it will be eaten within about an hour or so. What I do with it, is I put it in the fridge the night before to get it cold and use it for salads and fresh fruits that way. I have taken it with me for lunch almost everyday since purchasing it since it is salad season now. I am glad I purchased it and am considering getting one for my husband since he likes salads too. I will find something else for my hit foods in the winter though.

For a company whose origin story, iirc, was about trouble keeping queso dip hot, I had reasonable hopes that this bowl would at least keep its contents hot for an hour or so, but I am not even sure it out performs stoneware. As it does do well with not leaking and I do like it otherwise, I am going to utilize extra insulation to meet my needs with it, but that's not what I expected given the cost and hype.I am sure it keeps things well when sealed and in the refrigerator, but so do my lock-n-lock containers in a variety of sizes and shapes and for less - although they probably won't last as long.If you are looking for something durable, nice balance, good size, etc., for colder foods, go for it; especially if you need something that can stand up to a bit of rough treatment. If you are looking for a container to keep something hot for transport or for more than half an hour or so under good conditions, look elsewhere.I truly wish it were otherwise.

Was looking forward to a warm meal after an hour long hike and was disappointed by it being cold. I tried another time by wrapping food in tin-foil and putting inside, but I might as well left it out on the counter.....barely warm after 30 minutes.Haven't tried cold yet, but for the 40 buck price tag this product is crap. I have 25 dollar thermoses that keep food and drink warm for hours.

wanted so badly to love this. inserts sold separately. too hard to remove top- danger of spilling contents (hot or cold) too high.

I love the size of the bowl and how I don't have to wait in line to use the microwave on lunch hour. Food stays warm and ready to eat!
