Works great and is easy to set up use. Great investment for an auto shop or home. Great buy for the price.

Update: It lasted about 15 recoveries before seizing. One of the plastic compressor valves broke at the spring retainer, releasing the valve and allowing it to get crushed in the cylinder.I love this thing. Much better than the yellow brands.

box was in very bad shape all beat up, i thought it was a used machine, broken foam inside, no instruction book. and as far as i can tell it had been open before cause it was re taped. got the feeling that i paid for a used machine. it works had recover refrigerant from 3 condenser so far look like it gonna be ok.

Overall I am pleased with this recovery machine.It arrived well packaged and damage free.It pulls a steady, strong vacuum and I have had no overheating issues ect.I have used it on 4 jobs so far and I could not be happier with it.I would buy it again.5 STARS

This Hilmor is a very nice refrigerant recovery machine. The case and entire unit are solid and should hold up with heavy use. Dual piston for faster recovery times. I took a pic of the specs rather than just repeat them in the review. When I ordered, the listing didn’t have a lot of the specs and I had to search around on the Hilmor site to find them so I figure a picture from the manual will be a help to folks looking at purchasing.

The media could not be loaded. If you are reading a review of recovery machine then you probably know what it is for. And you heard of Hilmor. It makes one of the best tools for HVAC jobs. They are pricey - yes, but they are built virtually indestructible. This machine is not an exception - the plastic cover is ugly but it means business and will get the job done even in tough field jobs. The machine has electronic screen that shows input and output pressure, units are selectable PSI/bar. Once source is empty, units automatically switch to InHG and show vacuum level. Has purge function to keep it clean. When works it create a strong air stream on both side. It can be used as a fan (not a joke) to keep your recovery tank cool. Power cord is neatly wrapped at the back. It can do both - pull and push recovery modes. Works with all know refrigerants except for combustible (but those not need recovery and can be let out to air). I am very pleased with this machine and feel it will last me a lifetime.
