This is a review for the 1L size melting pot with bonus mini spatula.I bought this for melting butter, chocolate and wax. I like the pouring spouts for right or left handed use; the long straight metal handle for keeping my hands away from the heat source; and the small hook opposite the handle for straddling over a bowl or saucepan.It is brand new, shiny, no material flaws on INSIDE where the food or wax will be in contact with the vessel…and it comes with a bonus mini spatula. It has a stamp at the outside bottom surface of “stainless steel, 18-8.” It feels sturdy. It even comes with instructions.This will also be great for beating eggs, for pouring waffle batter and for smoothing out sauces before serving.This arrived blister packed and brand new, with No material flaws on INSIDE surface. For this type of item, the inside surface and edges are important, not just because the melting material is in direct contact, but also because flaws will cause melted material to catch and not pour smoothly.I recommend this product and this merchant.

I love this widdle pot! I finally made Hollandaise sauce for my asparagus. I never could get it right ever since my other very small double boiler was ruined 34 years ago. Bottle or mixes just do not taste the same, and using a 2 qt or larger double boiler just did not cook it the same. It heats it perfectly. This morning I decided to make an old family recipe, a chocolate frosting and this melted the chocolate perfectly, and I was able to use my hand mixer (the balloon whip attachment) for the 7 minutes of whipping the chocolate with the heavy cream. Again, a taste of the past. I recommend this to everyone if you want a small double boiler. I am very happy with it!

I've been looking quite awhile for a stainless steel double boiler insert that will hold all the liquid needed for 7-minute cooked frosting. This works! I actually measured how many cups of water this holds, which is exactly 6 cups. (Meaning, of course, that you can't actually try to cook 6 cups of liquid in it because it would overflow.) Anyhow.... this works super swell for beating cooked frosting. I've not melted chocolate in it yet, but can see no reason why this wouldn't work also.

don't use that often but great product

I used this as a double boiler to melt beeswax, oils and plant butters to make my own body care lotions, lotion bars, etc. The double pouring spouts and included spatula were an added bonus. The only concerning issue I had was cleaning the unit out. I made sure the remaining wax was still in liquid form, then wiped excess out of the inside of the metal bowl with some paper towels. What I found troubling was some black soot left on the paper towels as I wiped out the residual wax. At no time while melting the beeswax and oils did I over-heat or see smoke, so I know I didn't burn anything. I'm wondering if anyone else noticed any black soot left on paper towels while wiping/cleaning out the metal bowl. Other than this issue, this utensil worked very well for me.

It’s bigger than I thought it would be. It is a perfect size I can do small batches as well as bigger batches of my cacao chocolates. The spatula I thought was cute when I saw it on Amazon. Its the perfect size for this bowl and light weight. The spatula size is a nice compliment making the process easier. It’s easy to clean, seems sturdy so far after one use. The pour spouts made pouring into the chocolate molds easier as well as the thickness of the handle for a good grip. I didn’t spill a drop outside of where I wanted the chocolate.

This is a great size and I am happy that I got a larger one. It fit on my large saucepan easily and heats right up when the water is boiling. Easy to pour and clean, great buy!

Just what I was looking for to melt chocolate. Something’s are just better done in a double boiler. I have never perfected the art of microwaving certain things so I was very happy to be able to find this on Amazon.
