Yes it has rubber stoppers on ends. It can stand on a glass table top

Q: What material is the adjusting mechanism made of?

To adjust the tightness of the clips, just unscrew the phillips-head screws a little bit. That is the only way to “adjust” them. The screws are backed by a metal washer; the clips themselves are sturdy metal with a thick, tight and clear silicone cover over the tips to prevent page tearing.

Q: How well dos this work with just a single sheet of paper or a few sheets? Not sure if a normal paper stand will work better for less papers.
