Works for outward opening doors too. Sort of.
A bit of a mixed bag: I wanted a replacement lock for an outward opening door, but didn't realise that there were different versions for inward vs outward opening doors. It doesn't say anything on this listing, and only mentions it in the small print of the instructions, where the tone is basically "if you've bought this for outward opening doors, tough luck, talk to Customer Services at Yale." However, 30 secs later on you tube, there is a video that shows you how to swap the bolt round. Slightly messy, but it took me about two minutes and I'm really terrible at DIY. So alls well that ends well.

Very good…but beware
Great product, easy to follow instructions, even for an average diy person, such as myself. The lock was slightly larger than the lock being replaced. Therefore, the main hole through the door had to be moved (re-cut). Even this was quite simple with the step by step instructions. In the end, a good job.My only beef would be, keys. The lock comes with two. As my household numbers four, two more keys were needed. I would normally pay £10 for two keys. These, however, cost £18 for two. The reason, apparently, is Yale have patented the keys. So, the locksmith has to use blanks that you can only get from Yale. Obviously at an extortionate rate.If I have been given false information on this, please let me know. It took the guy less than a minute to cut both keys. What is the profit margin on these!?Beef over. Still a very good lock.

Be aware of the patented key!
I bought this lock to replace an old Yale lock of the same model that had, after years of use, succumbed to the weather. I chose Yale because I trust them, the product was competitively priced and being the same model I knew it would fit easily as a replacement. (it did). I was delighted. Until the next day when I called in at the key cutter for spare keys. It turns out that Yale has cleverly added a little feature (which they have then patented) that means you can only use genuine Yale keyways. These turned out to be £11 each (from Timpsons) against a fiver for clone key blanks. The three additional keys I needed ended up costing as much as the whole lock.

NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTWARD OPENING DOORS (without modification)
Bought this to add a lock to my shed, where the door opens outwards. Instructions were clear and easy to follow - no awkward steps or fiddly screws like a previous lock I'd bought. All seemed to be going well until it came to test it. The door shut fine, but could be pulled open with minimal effort. After a bit of trouble shooting, we read the fine print on the back of the packaging which says "Suitable for both left and right handed, inward opening doors. For outward opening doors, please call the Yale helpline"Opening up the back of the lock, we were able to change the lock direction so it would work on an outward facing door. However, the part that attaches to the door frame is molded for the inward configuration, and ironically because we had chiselled the frame to attach this, the frame was now just too thin to securely catch the latchWe've now modified the frame to make it all work, but it's frustrating that neither the listing nor the packaging clearly stated it's for inward facing doors, and we noticed too late.

Yale P89 deadlock nightlatch
Good lock with deadlock function - perfect for cylinders located 600MM from door edge to the cylinder centre. If instead you need a lock replacement for cylinders that are located 400 mm from the door edge to centre then you should purchase the Yale p85 Lock, the only only bad point is that it is a little fiddly to install.
