Surefire HL1-A-TN Tactical Helmet Light / Military Helmet mount flashlight

Light: great! Works like a dream!Mount: sucks! There is zero need whatsoever for a 360 degree rotating mount for something that is meant to sit on your head and illuminate straight foreword. The ratchet adds nearly an inch of offset to the light. No thanks. The fixed mount worked awesome. Till surefire brings it back I’m using Velcro for this guy. With the drawdown of military forces, I’m not expecting surefire to fix this anytime

I always wonder negative reviews come from!I'm a civilian and an end user of this great little light.A little double-stick velcro and it sits right up on top of my Tilley hat that goes everywhere.This thing feels bullet proof, as with most Surefire products.Generally Surefire fixes everything forever even when abused so I don't know what to make of the other review here. The battery spring won't come off for me even when I tried hard so go figure.The little IR strobe on top lights up the whole room when viewed through ANPVS-7 night vision but is invisible to human eyes so it will run the battery down eventually.The 123 batteries keep for a decade and are $1.50 on Surefires' site.Rock solid product.New gen LEDs get way brighter. Too bright for the night adapted eye so the dimmest setting is plenty to walk by.

For a surefire product I expected way more. I used it for one shift at work and after that it stopped working. Tried new batteries, cleaning it.It just stopped working.
