My old valve assy. same unit started to get stuck on different zones and tried a new solenoid but did not help. Replaced the whole unit which did not take too long and all normal operation for about 1 week. I took apart my valve index assembly and found a small grey plastic probably from the factory from the threads and removed the debris. Up to now all normal and was a great fix replacing the assembly. Guess plastic could be accidently left during manufacturing but working great now. Would recommend this valve.

I bought these to replace the faulty rainbird valves that lasted under 6 months before they started to leak. So far, these have performed flawlessly and the build quality is much higher than the rainbird. These came recommended to me by a commercial landscaper that will only use Irritrol valves.

I prefer Irritrol to other sprinkler valves because they perform and they last without incident. That said, I just replaced a 1-year-old Irritrol valve that began leaking endlessly because of a bad diaphragm. I was going to replace the diaphragm, but I had a spare valve. I just finished putting in the new one, which is identical to the one that just went bad. Over the last couple of decades, nothing has held up as well, and I'm not switching because of one bad one.
