Tomie's Baa Baa Black Sheep Board book – August 3, 2004

I bought three of these books, one for each of my three grandchildren for Easter. I also bought them each a Hansa black sheep to go with it. There is something about Baa Baa Black Sheep that one year olds love. Baa Baa was one of their first words. The illustrations are bright, simple and whimsical and there are several other nursery rhymes in this sturdy little book.

We love the Tomie dePaola books. Beautiful pictures, but too few words to a page. Our son likes us to sing the nursery rhymes, but with only a few words per page you need to turn the pages before the child can really take in the picture. Otherwise it's beautiful and I would recommend it.

My one year old loves this book. We first got it as a library book and she wanted us to read it to her all the time! We even took it along with us for a long plane ride. Since it was a library copy I decided to buy her one of her own. Its a good buy...well loved nursery rhymes,.beautiful illustrations and sturdy pages.

Love this author. Learned to love him with my kids, now my one year old grandson is turning pages with me. Sturdy and friendly. May order more for gifts.

We rented a summer house, which came with quite the children's book library. This was my one year-old granddaughter's favorite--and continues to be much loved at home after I ordered one for her.
