I cannot recommend this enough! As someone who gets burnt most of the time, these were a great reminder to reapply! Since using them I have not had any mishaps of forgotten sunscreen reapplication.

I was very impressed with this UV Detection stickers. The most important thing to know about this is A. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! and B. They work better with sunscreen CREAM / LOTION vs. the spray stuff. I have used it with both.The spots themselves are very adhesive (especially on clean skin) and will last a whole day of sun / water activities. I used them for our field day (I'm a teacher) and recently on a cruise vacation and if anything, they are a great physical reminder to apply sunscreen.So directions state that you must cover the spot and let it sit for 30 seconds FIRST, then rub it in with the rest of your sunscreen. Then you step out into the sun and it should change color. (I didn't realize this at first. When I was in my house, it was still purple, but it immediately changed upon stepping outside of my house.) As I mentioned, lotion works better than spray - the ones I cover with sunscreen lotion tend to get pretty clear, but spray sunscreen stays a very light purple - hence why the four stars. (If they can improve the technology to respond better to spray sunscreen, I would give it five stars! Although, maybe I should reconsider using spray sunscreen...) That is also important to remember for the level of UV protection - a sunscreen with a lower SPF will never turn your spot fully clear, you need at least a 40 to see that protection (and that is what doctors recommended anyway.)Once applied, my spot never returned fully purple - it would gradually become more of a deep magenta, but again, perhaps it was because I was reapplying.In any event, a great purple for those of us who tend to burn under the rays of the sun!

I had high hopes for this product but I don't understand fully how it should work. You open the package and the stickers are already purple even though they in a sealed package where UV rays can't hit it. Then regardless of how I put it on it NEVER goes clear. Not sure how something plastic is supposed to absorb something that is liquid?!If I'm doing something wrong then IMBTA but put it on in sun, or inside, then cover with sunscreen and it stays purple.**UPDATE**Tried again with a different sunblock and the stickers went clear. So the issue is this product doesn't work with all sunblock. It appears the Zinc based one I was using doesn't work but a spray on one that doesn't use a lot of Zinc did. Updated this review but leaving at 3 stars as I think this should be stated in the product info.

I got these for a trip to Hawaii and was disappointed.I first had a hard time getting the sticker off the sheet. I didn’t think I would have to leave that in a review ever but here we are. Once the sticker was on (my dry skin), with my applied sunscreen I went out to the beach. I proceeded to go into the water and by the time I got out of the ocean, the sticker was long gone.I don’t know if the sticker is only water proof for pools and bodies of water without waves but it certainly wasn’t in the ocean. I can’t say how well the sticker did at indicating since it didn’t stay on long enough to do so.

LOVE IT! Use it when vacationing as I have very pale skin tone. It reminds me when to put more sunscreen on and if I don’t remember someone I’m with sees the little patch turn purple and they let me know
