IMS Precision 14-18 g filter basket compatible with 54mm Breville Sage Espresso machines Express, Bambino, Bambino Plus BES450, BES500, BES880, BES810BSS, BES860XL, BES870XL, BES878

Make sure you measure the existing portafilter accurately before you purchase it. The product is nice. but somehow it doesn’t fit my coffee machine. And that’s my fault. I should read descriptions more carefully.

I got the 14-gram basket which is really a 14–16-gram basket. With medium-light roasts I am using a 15 gram dose and the puck knocks out fine. I do find that IMS baskets don't have as clean of a knockout, in general, as stock Breville baskets but maybe that is due to the shape (no taper).Anyway, it does what it should. It speeds up my shots making it so that I have to grind finer, which is what I got it for. Well that and not having too much head space in an 18 gram basket for smaller doses. But I will say that it does fit really, really tightly into both my stock Breville portafilter and my aftermarket dual spout and aftermarket bottomless portafilters. Also, the edges of the basket are a bit on the sharp side.All said and done, if I could give it a 4.5, I would.

This basket was just right for me and seems to have little or no channeling issues.

If you're looking for upgrades for your Solis Barista Perfetta plus, I have found that anything that fits the Breville 54mm machines like the Bambino match well.I got a nice aftermarket bottomless portafilter with a wood handle that was specified as being for Solis 54mm machines. That worked with the stock portafilter, but I did often get splattering and channeling issues.This basket is a a definite upgrade. For one, it allows me to grind finer with my Breville Smart Grinder Pro. A finer grind helps get a richer espresso with more crema. So that is one upgrade. It also is a tighter fit with the aftermarket portafilter. Splattering and channeling was also improved from the basket change only.On top of the basket I upgraded the machine with an IMS Precision Shower Screen also made for Breville 54mm machines, and it has been a perfect fit on the Solis. IT is also a major upgrade and my gind is even finer as a result and also channeling and splatters seems to be completely eliminated.The first 2 shots I pulled on this were clearly better than most I pull on my machine. I'm looking forward to dialing these in and getting consistently great shots.

I own a Breville Bambino Plus machine. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that say the basket doesn’t fit the stock portafilter. I’ve finally figured out the problem. Inside the portafilter, there’s a tiny little wire that has 3 horizontal lines around it. This is the thing that holds the basket in place and is usually too tight. You have to push the wire outwards in order to loosen it and the basket will fit perfectly inside the portafilter.

Excellent east to clean great quality and fits perfect on my bambino. Worked amazing when pulling shots I can grind much finer. Great value too

Be aware that IMS notoriously under-estimates the capacity of their baskets. If you go by visual alone, you'll think you're dosing 18g when it's actually closer to 20g. It performs well and cleans up easily, but make sure you weigh your dose if accuracy is important to pulling your shot.

I put 18g ground quite finely into this 14g basket, and get 38-40g for most med-dark beans and it tastes great. I have a Breville Bambino Plus and a DF54 grinder.
